    Unresponsive Choice
I returned the Acer-Aspire for a refund because it's playing was slow and sluggish... it had a below-average level of multitasking which was baffling to get used to... the other features were all OK and the long battery life was a and.
    All around grand product
Starts without delay, excellent screen definition makes it easier to view manual and images on the small screen. Highly portable. I use this at work on freestyle power and get over 6hrs before even worrying about it. Seems to work just as competently as any other computer I've owned.
Omitting alternative Notebook (price vs specs)
I'm not present to write book here about it - there's already alot of reviews. However, people always rate their new notebooks height for the 1st year of ownership. See what the ratings look like after people have owned it for over a year - that's when all the defects (if any?) come up & depreciation takes its toll.

My main reason for buying this was the valuation $379 + tax. After about two years I won't be out much and can buy another one. My last notebook was $1600 then depreciated down to about $50 and wore-out after two yrs. So, that's not sound! Besides liking the Acer's weight, battery life, Win7, temps, and configuration - the price makes it attractive & safe alternative.
    Monstrous alternative to a netbook.
I liked my netbook, but I Passion this laptop. The screen is MUCH larger and the processor is a great deal faster. This laptop handles streaming and downloaded media very well and is as concise as a netbook. Battery life is also amazing. The keyboard is nicely meant and easy to type on. The fact that the laptop includes an HDMI out port is a excessive plus. It originally came with Vista Home Premium, which worked nicely, but I was fitting for the Windows 7 upgrade and I'm amazed at how much I like the new OS.

If you're looking for a small, foolproof to carry and use laptop to supplement your home system while you're on the go, BUY THIS ONE!!! For the price, you can't go wrong with this laptop. You won't mourn it.
Acer Aspire AS1410-8414 w/ Windows Vista Knowledgeable in Premium
This "mini-laptop" has worked immaculately from the minute I turned it on and began configuring/loading software on it. The 11.6-in. show is terrific - extremely sharp (text/graphics) and renders colors excellently. In addition, the laptop is well made with a solid casing and a high-gloss blue lid.

The want of an internal CD/DVD drive is no problem at all. For about $60 I picked up an external USB CD/DVD spin at Fry's Electronics here in Southern California and it's worked as advertised.

One thing you do basic to think about, though, before you purchase this Acer: If you're used to "regular-size" keyboards, the Acer's keyboard will take a petty getting used to because of the machine's small size. For me, it took about a day to get inured to to the keyboard but now it's all good.

    Very worthy laptop...
This laptop is uncommonly great. I mean, if you consider the price, you'll know what I'm talking about. Toshiba is a very punctilious brand. No problems with the Wi-fi at all.
    Upright laptop for the price
I got this laptop about 1 week ago, and I am as a rule pleased with the quality. Everything worked smoothly out of the box, and it's been working flawlessly with my wireless N D-connector router. Toshiba's functions key controls for hibernating, changing video create, etc are well designed and intuitive to use.

On the minus side, the speakers are a bit tinny sounding. The video efficiency is adequate for casual movie viewing, but will not satisfy someone looking for HD like video. This pad has integrated graphics without a discrete video card and would not support intoxicated end games with 3D graphics. I also could not get an older game like diablo 2 to exertion. Additionally, Toshiba does note recommend trying to upgrade the video wag (although it's possible), and doing so would void the warranty.

On a side note, I tried this computer with Toshiba Dynadock and did not find the tear sufficient for smooth operation. I would not try to dock this computer, or in general any computer that is not meant to be docked.

Overall, this is good computer for the price. It will be good for work and erratic video viewing, but do not plan on playing games or using it for watching important quality video.
    Polite Laptop
The silver screen resolution is kind of insanely bright, but everything else is great with this laptop. No problems connecting to any wireless networks either.
    Very satisfied!
I a moment ago brought this computer a week ago, and I am very happy with it. The only thing I think that can be improved would be the speakers. They are brightly but not really that loud. But I have to say that I did know about this from another review. So yes I would recommend this laptop to anyone I know.
Dejectedly, don't buy this if you want to use it on a wireless network
My son bought a Toshiba Netbook 2 months ago and loved it -- PCworld rated Toshiba the #1 PC laptop in the problem from a week ago -- I ordered this machine but it will not connect with my wireless network -- even though dozens of pc's visiting my adept in have over the last couple of years with no problema.

I won't bore you with my agony at Tech brook -- but at the end (7 hours off and on later) after reinstalling the NIC (Network Interface Liable act) drivers for the 3rd time the tech said --"send it back to Amazon we have been e-mailing plane 3 that there is this problem"

I love the appearance and ergonomics -- just don't conduct it if you want to do wireless internet

    Very Ticklish
I got this for my fiance's Bday and he loved it. We had a connect of issues with it but the sellers were very polite and helped us out very quickly fixing the problems. Patron service was great and he loves using the computer. There has been no issues with it since and it works top.
    Laptop Pleasant
I expectation this was wireless ready. I guess its my own fault and i could be more computer savy. It is a great artifact, I just wish I knew i had to hard line it to use the internet.
    elevated for school
    I dote on mine.
I'm not a gamer or anything of the sort, I just use mine for internet purposes and college, and it's utter. It lags a bit, which is annoying, but should be expected with the low price. Overall, I like it a lot.
    zealous service
I did have sme issues Non-Standard irregardless the laptop, however i contacted the seller and they were great! i got everything i needed taken care of very soon, and they were very helpful. All and all the laptop works well.
Not bad for a budget laptop
I ordered a refurbished D600 from Dell Fiscal Services 3 years ago. It was a good solid laptop while I had it. Mine had 1gb of RAM and a CD/DVDROM (no burner). Mine also did not go about a find with an XP CD or any recovery disc at all. I had an old Windows 2000 CD, so I loaded that. I tried upgrading it to Vista Home Essential. It was way slow, even with 1gb of RAM. I ran Server 2003 and Server 2008 on it for a while, to study for validation exams. I also ran Fedora and Ubuntu Linux for a while. It even ran a hackintosh version of OS X objectively well. I think the hard drive started going bad after I reformatted it so many times. I replaced the eager drive with a spare 20gb drive. This drive was tpo small for Vista, Aegis and all the latest patches. I went back to Windows 2000, because it was small and ran the first-rate. I never tried it with XP, because Dell did not include the XP CD with my purchase. This was a great laptop for learning abundant operating systems in a test environment.

I did have a few problems with this laptop. First, the CD/DVD drive had problems booting from CDs after a while. DVDs seemed to boot ok. Support, the hard drive starget going bad. I think I just wore it out. It was effortless enough to replace myself. Third, way slow with Windows Vista. I agree with the other reviewers who said it's too monotonous to be a gaming computer.

My biggest complaint with the D600, is that it's so darn heavy. It weighs almost 5 1/2 lbs, or over 6 lbs if you incorporate the charger. That's just too heavy to lug around when I'm traveling. I sold it to a friend for a very compelling price and ordered a Dell Mini 9 netbook to take traveling. The 2.2 lb Netbook is way more handy to take traveling. By the way, most Netbooks have a 1.6ghz processor compared to the 1.4ghz processor in the D600. Sometimes I nymph the 14 inch screen, but the Netbooks small size, lightweight and portablity more than skedaddle up for it.

    Talented!
I delight my MacBook! The multi-touch trackpad and battery life are Astounding! This is my first Mac and now I will never go Windows again... Sorry Bill!
    Pros:
    -Multi-Touch Trackpad
    -13.3 inch brilliant screen
    -Easy to fast-type keyboard
    -7 hour mobile life
    -2.26GHz processor! (Super fast!)
    -It is just amazing
    Cons:
-No SD greetings card slot (not a big deal AT ALL)
-The white color... I can see some scratches :(

I Enthusiastically recommend this! It is the same thing as the MacBookPro 13-inch but no FireWire, no SD likely slot, and no aluminum! That's all! :)
The most qualified laptop I have owned, Windows or Mac
I place of safety't owned a Mac laptop in 12+ years. (though I have craved one) Finally I found a favourable deal on this polycarbonite macbook. The 2 other machines I was looking at were the 15 Dell Studio (subtle eSata port) and the ASUS ULV models (with 12 hour advertised battery-operated life)

The processor in the Dell was faster at a similar price and the mobile life of the Asus made it appealing. I have no regrets that I chose the Apple artifact. With VMWare Fusion I have a great Windows XP computer. (that resumes and suspends way faster than my VMWare workstation does on my vocation PC)

In addition, I loaded Windows 7 with bootcamp. (I have to reboot to get to it) I turned on all visual effects and the acting is impressive.

I found that a remote support tool called "TeamViewer" has a mac style that works great! (shared my screen with my friends to show them the interface) It patently lowers the color palette to increase speed.

It is nice that OSX has RDP built in! I unconnected into my Windows XP desktop almost daily.
    THINGS I LOVE:
    1) Windows on the same wave length (even XP, newer Windows machines with XP drivers are getting more and more rare)
    2) Mac Sound power adapter. My Sony laptop's AC/DC adapters always die right after the warranty expires. They are over $100 to put in place of, but the latest macsafe is only $75. I love this because I don't have to reach behind my machine to advertise it in and I don't have to check if it is plugged in before I pick it up. (you can see it on the side) Also my kid tripped over the cord the first day I had it....it wholly came unplugged. (gotta love Apple for this one)
    3) The screen is LED backlit and only lose glossy. (macbook pros have glass on them, very shiny) bright is good for indoor use, but in the sun you will wish it wasn't glossy at all. This is a happy course and as always the Apple display is wonderful and bright.
    4) Lithium Polymer mobile (non-removable) By eliminating the extra hardware needed to use a removable freestyle Apple has lighted the load. Using this technology is unique in the exchange. (I don't think any PC laptops have LIPO batteries) The advertised 7 hr freestyle life is realistic in Windows or OSX if you lower the screen brightness a duo of notches from the top. (the lower you go, the longer the battery life) Many people are disarrange over the non-removable battery. The truth is you can replace it yourself or have Apple do it for $125 or so. It is removable but you have to take of the take in and undo some fasteners. It will also last longer than the Lithium Ion batteries we are used to replacing every 2 years. (Apple says in 5 years it will have 80% of it's autochthonous life)
    5) Nice Nvidia graphics. I was looking for a powerful party not a netbook or machine without discrete graphics.
    6) Chicklet keyboard. Parenthesis from confusion over which modifier key I should (being a long time Windows user) the keyboard is a joy. I partiality the itunes dedicated play, pause next button setup as well as the book (that even works in Windows or Linux) and the handy brightness settings. In the days things like programmable keys on certain machines required locating drivers and a bit of occupation. Apple makes things easy with their bootcamp setup.
    7) Resale value. At first I wanted to get a netbook. I looked on Cragslist and notices that they were advantage very little used. I next determined that anything under 12" wouldn't do. (older Sony machines and ultra portables) I concern about picking up some old machines and buying a new battery. Battery life is very portentous to me and there is no PC equivalent to this machine. I spent a little more than a net book or order ultra manageable, but I will be able to sell it later for a good price and it will probably be more credible than either option.

You can get the aluminum unibody macbook pro if you really want that but you will pay more for the same specs. (though it will have Firewire and an SD carte de visite slot) I like the looks of the Pro better but I couldn't justify the rake-off rich. Owning an Apple product (whether polycarbonite or aluminum) is a great encounter.

    Discriminating tune-up
Am very light-hearted with this new MacBook. It's smooth, ergonomic, smart, and very user friendly. Apple knows that many of it's customers are looking to upgrade from an older segment and makes the process very painless. My old MacBook, which I got three years ago, was about maxed and close to worn out from long service. It superseded my G4 T-Book, which took over for my old Impediment Street, which I had purchased in the late 90's after years of dueling with WinTels. This is a million miles beyond the in use accustomed to Mac Portable I had in college (which even then ran circles around the newer IBMs of the day).
This unit will run Windows excel than a dedicated machine, and cross-platform everything you need to bridge that gap effortlessly (with the just software like Parallels and a stable Windows OS).
For all intents and purposes, this is the MacBook Pro in a divers chassis. You lose a couple of ports, gain a larger HD, and forgoing a larger memory cache; this only goes to 4G. If you're running Pro Tools or Irrevocable Cut Pro, you'll do better with one of the larger Macs for a lot of reasons. But this will run TurboCAD, the Adobe Suites, Responsibility, and all the other usual suspects brilliantly for all intents and purposes.
I held back a heroine because though this is a 64 bit machine, Apple won't let it boot in 64 bit kernel procedure and take full advantage of the true nature of it's architecture. I think they need to let the MacBook swell to more base memory - my last one only went to 4G as well - 3 years ago. Most importantly, Apple requests to wake up and seriously consider including touch screens on all their unborn products, not just iPhones and iPads. A lot of us are getting spoiled with our savvy gadgets, thanks in large part to Apple itself.
In Summary, it's great to see a new Mac under $1000, primarily such a powerful little machine as this one. Mac has always been light years ahead of the send someone about his with both their equipment and software and this unit is no exception. You can double the on-board honour for about $100, which I highly recommend, and spend the rest of the money you come to someone's rescue here on software, music, and other gadgets.
    Marvellous laptop
I had an older MacBook that was a Cyclopean laptop but I max out the harddrive and decided to purchase a new one rather than to buy an external drive. I have been very impressed with this new laptop.....conduct is a greatly improved as well as the hardrive on this new MacBook gives me plenty of margin to grow. Can't beat an apple!
    Apple MacBook
This is my fourth Apple Computer. Preceding items have always performed very satisfactorily.
After about six weeks use of the Mac Book I am just as satisfied with it. A mobile charge lasts for about six hours the way I use it - recharge takes only a couple hours. It's very lecherous and the energy-saving provisions are very welcome. I give it five stars.

Nokia introduces Booklet 3G 'mini laptop'

Nokia rocked the rapturous this morning by introducing its jaunt on the laptop, called the Leaflet 3G. If you're the discourteous genus ( like us ) you could call it a inventiveness netbook, what with its Atom processor and 10.1-inch air, but that shield is higher res than your ordinary Eee, and it also sports integrated 3G wireless and a hot-swappable SIM behave, so it's categorically worrying to state its own place. It looks to be competition Windows 7, which isn't distinctively netbooky, and also has integrated A-GPS with a duplication of Ovi Maps, HDMI put out, a rated 12 hour battery-operated existence, and the old Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, all in a 2cm (.78 inch), 2.7lb aluminum torso that's low-key, cultured, and should decide on most Nokia fans very on cloud nine -- Nokia fans who are looking for a elfin laptop, anyway. There's a hallucination promotional video after the cripple, and while we don't have any owed unveil antiquated or worth neutral yet, we'll be culture more at Nokia Fabulous 09 on September 2. We solemn word of honour not to finish out too many Foleo references.

    @Nutjob

Nokia were judgement "what would Apple do if they created a netbook?" when they made this, but only in the "how much would Apple assault" suspicion on a under discussion.

It's accepted to be so high-priced you'll give up your eyeballs out. You'll be skilled to buy an equivalent Dell for less than partly the rate, I bet.

It's flourishing to experience melancholy and voluminous. Metal casing + big-ass mobile.

It's prosperous to look thick. On a par edges do not flannel a shallow curtain pad; even Acer get this!

It's got an Atom processor so it'll be dog progressive. It's got an Intel chipset so rotten graphics and drivers.

It'll run Windows so elfin novelty or differentiation from the myriad of other netbooks out there.

It's Nokia's first PC so they're on a excessive knowledge curve - indigence to bet against some status problems??

However, it will have decorous freestyle life-force, a ameliorate cull, some hairy peripherals like GPS and 3G and will discern very undivided compared to most netbooks, including my gratifying MSI, so I may be tempted.
