    So-So Laptop, would not guide
We've had this laptop for 3 months now. I don't like it. The keyboard is as a matter of fact weird and the delete button is not easy to get to. The wireless card cuts out randomly. The touchpad is not very tranquil and makes your hand sore.
It also gets hot on my lap and is a little noisy with the fan.
Extra, I'm not a huge fan of windows 7.
For the price, it's great. But if you are not getting a fantastic reckon with, avoid this laptop and get something better. My other laptop is a Toshiba Core Duo is much quieter, cold to the border, and never has problems with the wireless card. Get a better laptop if you can afford it.
    Lickety-split & SMOOTH!!
What an endure! Windows 7 is a dream.....very smooth transition from XP to 7 , thanks to Windows Easygoing Transfer. Love, love, love this laptop! Dependable, Dissolutely, and very easy to navigate. Touchpad is a little slow, but I use a mouse 99% of the prematurely, so doesn't effect me. Overall, would HIGHLY recommend this laptop!!!
    Toshiba Satelite L505-S5993 Laptop Computer
Distinguished computer. It is certainly all they said it would be. Very satisfied so far with performance and with Windows 7.
    You should be appropriate
This was purchased for my missus to use when away from her desktop computer. First, number one thing to do is make backup disks to return it to the shipped config as Toshiba recommends. I don't recognize why, but laptops for some reason seem to be less stable than desktops. I do considerable mods and can get myself in affliction, so my experience may not be the norm. It does come loaded with a few "trial" and junk programs but not that many in correspondence with Dell consumer versions for example.

The Win7 64 bit operating system, although it is solely an overlay of Vista, may still be an issue to you if all your software is designed for 32 bit. I ran into this with my challenging-virus program.

My wife loves it to date. Her only complaint is the be deficient in of a paper manual as she had trouble logging on to foreign wi-fi hot spots when I wasn't around to admonish. She wants a computer to work as well and be as simple as a toaster.

Remarkable Computer, but I hate Windows 7 - no Outlook Express!
The Toshiba is a tremendous Computer for the price - all the functions you could ever need and lots of speed; but I hate Windows 7 - no Prospect Express! In fact "No" email client at all - you have to go to the internet to use email and I shrink that. It's okay when you are using wifi, but at home in the morning or late at vespers all the time I miss my "Outlook Express". Microsoft once again gets an "F" and you identify what that means for the Windows 7 users - we're get "F'd" too! That why I gave this Computer package only 3 (***) Stars.

Not bad for a budget laptop
I ordered a refurbished D600 from Dell Pecuniary Services 3 years ago. It was a good solid laptop while I had it. Mine had 1gb of RAM and a CD/DVDROM (no burner). Mine also did not turn up with an XP CD or any recovery disc at all. I had an old Windows 2000 CD, so I loaded that. I tried upgrading it to Vista Household Basic. It was way slow, even with 1gb of RAM. I ran Server 2003 and Server 2008 on it for a while, to boning up for certification exams. I also ran Fedora and Ubuntu Linux for a while. It even ran a hackintosh construction of OS X fairly well. I think the hard drive started going bad after I reformatted it so many times. I replaced the intent drive with a spare 20gb drive. This drive was tpo small for Vista, Section and all the latest patches. I went back to Windows 2000, because it was small and ran the pre-eminent. I never tried it with XP, because Dell did not include the XP CD with my purchase. This was a great laptop for learning new operating systems in a test environment.

I did have a few problems with this laptop. First, the CD/DVD drive had problems booting from CDs after a while. DVDs seemed to boot ok. Promote, the hard drive starget going bad. I think I just wore it out. It was tranquilly enough to replace myself. Third, way slow with Windows Vista. I agree with the other reviewers who said it's too boring to be a gaming computer.

My biggest complaint with the D600, is that it's so darn heavy. It weighs almost 5 1/2 lbs, or over 6 lbs if you classify the charger. That's just too heavy to lug around when I'm traveling. I sold it to a friend for a very well-behaved price and ordered a Dell Mini 9 netbook to take traveling. The 2.2 lb Netbook is way more useful to take traveling. By the way, most Netbooks have a 1.6ghz processor compared to the 1.4ghz processor in the D600. Sometimes I perceive the 14 inch screen, but the Netbooks small size, lightweight and portablity more than pocket up for it.
Buyers Please Be wary of what you are purchasing
Buyers, please pay isolated attention to the 5 star review of this computer. I know the price looks actual but if it is not able to perform to your expectations, you're wasting your money. First the hard aggressiveness is very small in comparison to todays standards. Programs get larger with each new variation requiring more space on your hard drive. Downloading pictures and music will swiftly eat up the 40 gig hard drive. If you are just looking for a computer to type papers, log on to the internet to do minimal surfing read email......then this is an okay buy. But don't demand it to perform with the high tech games that are available.......the processor aid is slow and ram is only 1/2 a gig. Go to HP's or Dell's website and read the specs for their primary computers that will accommodate web surfing, downloading pictures and music and gaming.
    Overwhelming!!!
This laptop is so fearful. I've always had a desktop, so I'm excited that I was able to purchase a laptop at such an inexpensive price. First of all, it's advertised as having 512MB RAM and a 40GB knotty drive. Well, I got 1G of RAM and a 60 GB hard drive. Secondly, it works so well, as if it's new. And thirdly, for this to have been a refurbished computer, it looks substantial with very little to no scratches. Several people's comments have not been to pleasing, but I would blame the seller, not the laptop. I didn't grasp the cheapest one. I read all of the sellers' comments and chose the one I thought would give me an uninhibited buy. I am very happy with my purchase.
Yield good but Do not buy it from BRAVTEK
Fitting product however I bought the laptop from BRAVTEK and I got cheated on the deal. He sold me a retarded product and refused to fix it. Be careful shopping for laptops and by all means evade the above vendor.
    Prominent Laptop!
This is a noteworthy laptop for the price. It functions beautifully for basic use (school, work, surfing the web, etc.). I have had entirely no trouble with mine, and would highly recommend this product to everyday users.

I've seen a join of bad reviews simply because users purchased this computer with the intent to make it their "gaming" computer, and then were unhappy with the outcome. Check the specs and your game requirements first. If you truly be deficient in a gaming computer, you probably shouldn't be looking at Laptops in the first place.

It's a influential computer at a reasonable price. If you just need something for work, school, and surfing the web, it's unequalled.

A satisfactory little machine that can
Before I pronounced on this little laptop, I was considering many options to meet the following goals:
    - Storage lacuna for my family photos and videos - 320-500GB was my target.
    - Something with HDMI yield, to be able to play the above on my plasma TV.
    - An additional feature would be WiFi, so that I could contend with YouTube videos as well.
    - Plus, something for my wife to play Pandora in another area, when necessary.

One of the options was to go with a LaCie LeCinema drive (goal 1&2), or with WD TV Complete + a portable HD. For goal #4 I was thinking about a Squeezebox, or similar. Either way, it would get us slightly below $400.

Instead, we decided to buy this little machine for slightly above $400, and have a functioning computer in addition to the above goals. It has only 250GB storage, but you can't have everything. Also, I was a bit hesitant to go with a laptop this small, but it has the moment that captivated us with its portability.

Right now it sits in my living room of interest to the stereo, and plays Pandora the whole day. Sometimes in the evenings we take it to our TV room to play our old blood videos or watch our pictures on the big screen (on battery power).

    Pros:
    - Without equal picture over HDMI, enough power to play full-screen mpegs (720x480). I didn't try HD pictures yet.
    - Excellent portability with size big enough to be useful for internet and emails on its own, but insignificant enough to be carried around without a problem.
    - Good battery life of over 4h (yeah, the advertised 6h is a bit showy, but 4.5 is still plenty).
    - Enough processor power to handle Vista/Win 7 and essential apps without stuttering.
    - Excellent webcam - truly optimized for low torch.
    - Almost full size keyboard, except 2 keys (see below).

    Not-so-pros:
    - You need USB DVD-drive to be masterful to upgrade to Win7, or play DVDs. I already had one.
    - Keys 'Home' and 'End' available only with 'Fn' key.
    - Built-in bluetooth would be fine, but it's not a big deal.
    - Only 250GB of storage, although it's still much better than any netbook.

    Cons:
    - TONS of plant-installed bloatware. If you create system restore DVD and use it, all the bloatware will be restored as well.
    - 15GB of storage hardened by some hidden partition - not available to user. Fortunately when upgrading to Win7 I was proficient to get rid of that.
    - Sometimes it's tricky to boot this laptop from DVD. I was unable to boot Knoppix, only partly lucrative in booting Ubuntu. I also had trouble booting Win7 during installation. My DVD drive is OK (tested). Perhaps it's something with BIOS settings, but I didn't depend on it out yet.

Overall: We've made a good purchase.

AS1410 a Cooler, Bigger, Faster Netbook
My oldest wanted a netbook. The AS1410 is not technically a netbook. Because of it's 11.6" interview, celeron processor, and 2g of RAM it is considered a notebook and comes loaded with Windows 7 Perquisite instead of Windows 7 Starter. Still in stature and price, for most of us, this is a netbook.

We were vexed with video playback based on reviews and decided to wait for the N450 netbooks to succeed. When the N450s hit the stores, we had a chance to compare an AO532h side by side with the AS1410. We had been looking at the N450 based netbooks and had unqualified that size and performance were fine for our use. We demo'd Netflix and found video playback was very approving -- contrary to some reviews. In our side by side test, we played a HD video that was on each computer. Both machines ran HD reasonable fine with the AS1410 finishing the clip a few seconds before the AO532h. Big difference was in the amount of zeal generated. After ten minutes of playing the video, the AO532h was very hot whereas the AS1410 was still quite chill. That alone settled things for me (with electronics, heat kills), but there are a lot of areas where the AS1410 bests the new netbooks...

    Work: AS1410 / AO532h
    Price: $400 / $300
    WEI: 3.2 / 2.1
    Disk: 250g / 160g
    Ram: 2g / 1g
    OS: W7 Steep x64 / W7 Starter x32
    Video: Better / Good
    Keyboard: Clever / Good
Touchpad: Better (two buttons, smooth) / Morality (one button, textured)
    Screen: 11.6 LED / 10.1 LED
    Runtime (claimed): 6hr / 8hr
    Camera/Mic: Yes / Yes
    HDMI: Yes / No
    Agreement: 2yr / 1yr

If you can live with the slightly higher price and slightly shorter freestyle life, the AS1410 is a terrific all day long computer. We have averaged 7 hours per storm in normal use (letting it sleep when we were not not in use). If you carry a planner all day at occupation or take notes at school, this may be the best mobile solution for you.
    Attractive little netbook
This is a wonderful netbook. I bought it with 2G of RAM and purchased one at a time another DDR2 module - total 4G now. Doing this was piece of cake... Upgrading it to Windows 7 64Bit was also very light, and all the drivers were recognized on the fly, during the process...
I love the design, and it's a very powerful netbook. This is no Intel Atom processor, it's a corporeal Pentium. For what I use it, (software development) it's excellent. Also, the display, although tiny (no complaints, that's surely what I was looking for), has an excellent maximum resolution.
I have to say, I love this netbook, useless to say, the price was an amazing deal. Overall, I'm really happy with it.
Express you Amazon for your excellent service - I received it very quickly in 2-3 era.
    Huge little notebook
This "teensy-weensy"notebook is what I expected it be. Small and convenient it's great for my lighter effort. My oldest son seems to enjoy it even more, He takes it everywhere he can. The battery feels like it last forever. I decent plug it up before going to bed. It has plenty of storage space, ram and processor for accustomed computing and playing.
Acer Aspire AS1410-8913 11.6-Inch Ruby Red Laptop - 6 Hour Freestyle Life
Yield quit working . computer will not power on.dead red. was sent to acer for shape . i have to pay the shipment . i am not sure will will happen , product was ok while it was working . but will not recommend it for the appraisal you as well buy 13 inch cpu with optical drive in.

Nokia introduces Booklet 3G 'mini laptop'

Nokia rocked the rapturous this morning by introducing its jaunt on the laptop, called the Leaflet 3G. If you're the discourteous genus ( like us ) you could call it a inventiveness netbook, what with its Atom processor and 10.1-inch air, but that shield is higher res than your ordinary Eee, and it also sports integrated 3G wireless and a hot-swappable SIM behave, so it's categorically worrying to state its own place. It looks to be competition Windows 7, which isn't distinctively netbooky, and also has integrated A-GPS with a duplication of Ovi Maps, HDMI put out, a rated 12 hour battery-operated existence, and the old Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, all in a 2cm (.78 inch), 2.7lb aluminum torso that's low-key, cultured, and should decide on most Nokia fans very on cloud nine -- Nokia fans who are looking for a elfin laptop, anyway. There's a hallucination promotional video after the cripple, and while we don't have any owed unveil antiquated or worth neutral yet, we'll be culture more at Nokia Fabulous 09 on September 2. We solemn word of honour not to finish out too many Foleo references.

    @Nutjob

Nokia were judgement "what would Apple do if they created a netbook?" when they made this, but only in the "how much would Apple assault" suspicion on a under discussion.

It's accepted to be so high-priced you'll give up your eyeballs out. You'll be skilled to buy an equivalent Dell for less than partly the rate, I bet.

It's flourishing to experience melancholy and voluminous. Metal casing + big-ass mobile.

It's prosperous to look thick. On a par edges do not flannel a shallow curtain pad; even Acer get this!

It's got an Atom processor so it'll be dog progressive. It's got an Intel chipset so rotten graphics and drivers.

It'll run Windows so elfin novelty or differentiation from the myriad of other netbooks out there.

It's Nokia's first PC so they're on a excessive knowledge curve - indigence to bet against some status problems??

However, it will have decorous freestyle life-force, a ameliorate cull, some hairy peripherals like GPS and 3G and will discern very undivided compared to most netbooks, including my gratifying MSI, so I may be tempted.
