It's rather inexpensive, but for a reason.When the battery-operated that came with my Acer Timeline 5810T died, I purchased this battery as a replacement. What drew me in was the quotation. This battery has a list price of $102, but why anyone would pay that much for it, I have no idea. I only paid around $40 for it, and I knew that was a low guerdon for a laptop battery. I wasn't expecting it to be a perfect replacement, but it would have to do on my destitute-college-student-budget.
As others mentioned, there isn't nearly as much power in this freestyle as the original battery. With the original battery, I was able to take my laptop with me all day on a full expect, do some work in the library, sit out on the quad, and do some homework in lounges, all without having to fee until I got back to my room at night. It gave me a good 6-8 hours of unmitigated work time, and if my battery was running low, I could still use the computer up until it was at about 10% or less power. I hardly ever did this though, and in the time I was using the computer with the original battery in, I only ran the thing until it died once. However, with this replacement battery-operated, I only get around 3 and a half hours of time, if that. Also, the laptop will now die as soon as the notification for 30% power comes up. It's frustrating, but considering what I paid for it, it's to be expected. If you need a battery, and you're on a budget, then this one will do in a run in, but don't pay more than $40 or $50 for it. Don't pay the list price of $102, because that's a total rip off. As far as purchasing a real replacement battery, Acer doesn't have them listed on their website, so good good break finding a battery that's as good as the one that came with the computer.

I'm using this in an Acer 5810T Timeline. The basic battery got 6-8 hours of work time. This replacement gets me 3.5 hours most. It works, but dont expect great battery life.
much less power than beginning batter
When I put this battery-operated into the computer, it's reported back that there is 4 hours left. That is less than 1/2 of the original battery (where the icon reports there is 10 hours socialistic).
And an icon comes up on my AS3810TZ that shows a battery icon with a reduction in it -- I am not sure what it means, but the computer is saying (apparently) that something is wrong.
The type here says:

But this is not a replacement. It seems a sub-par battery, not a 'Replacement'. I do not positive why it's different in performance (maybe somebody else knows and can comment?).
Acer justifiable told me the original battery cost is $100, which I have ordered.
