    Egregious laptop !
Influential computer for the price just a few cons.
1.keyboard buttons are awesome i unqualifiedly do like but they are black so needed lights for a better use.
2.Can not get 8 hrs from the battery i try everything they said to augment battery life but the best is 4.5hrs as a regular notebook which sucks for this is the channel reason i selected this.
These are the only two major issues for me.
    pros.
-love the appearance and the metal casing on the display back.
-watch a few HD and Blu-ray movies and i must admit the disclose is amazing, crystal clear and bright..WOW!!
-runs quitely and fair-minded seems to never get hot ..never nice piece of tech. whatever that is.
-got a free upgrade from Acer to windows 7.Runs a itty-bitty smoother after the upgrade.
    -Amazing touch pad
    -4 USB ports
    -Card reader.
    -piercing speakers
-ok webcam not the best software for the cam also.
Have this for 4 months now and i'm happy with it the cost was a little bit less than it is now but does quite enough for the price just wish the keyboard had lights.

    benefit the price I paid
Wanted a low priced laptop for effectively use (internet/netflix/word procecssor). No gaming or dark video use.
Looked extensively on the net and read all the reviews on tons of laptops. Found the AS5810TZ-4274 and purchased it for
$399.00 thru premium matching (not from amazon).
After using this laptop for a week, I am very impressed with this scale model. Although not a powerful
laptop, it does everything I need. It is designed for low power use, not performance.
Vista run just fine. Have not had any problems, but looking forwards to Windows 7.

SU2700 CPU, 3GB RAM, 4 USB ports, HDMI/VGA port, 10/100/100 ethernet, wireless ABGN, webcam, Vista Deeply Premium, 15.6 LED screen, 320GB drive.

    Things I like:
    - LED Partition off is crisp/clear
    - Performance is decent, have not had any major slows downs when continual apps
    - NetFlix video streams are fast. No delays - video is crispy/clear
    - GoogleMaps display is clear
    - Power managament programs in the final analysis help save battery life
    - Laptop NEVER gets fervent/hot, even when I run it all day. Battery lasts forever.
    - Very lite/thin
    - Haven't tried the webcam yet, but small to have it already installed
    - Monitor hinges are strong/sturdy

    Things I don't Like:
    - WiFi LED always blinks. (infuriating)
    - Keyboard keys are flat. Your fingers tend to slip and accidently seethe adjacent key
    - I wish the video chip was a bit stronger (not a major issuance though) (my older laptop has the ATI chip with 256MB onboard)

    Tips:
    - Always set the system and harddrive watchword via the BIOS setup
    - You can make your own recovery CD/DVD from the desktop program. Requires 14 CDs or 2 DVDs. Or, you can layout from ACER for $20.00.
    - Actually, recovery CD is free. Just email ACER support and apprise them you want a recovery CD at no charge.
    - Upgrade to Windows 7 is a free upgrade, but this will run out soon.
    - Uninstall some of the bloatware programs. (i.e. trial games)
    - ACER website has al the BIOS and driver updates. Reckon sure you update the BIOS.
    - Tons of Microsoft updates for Vista. If you foresee to update to Windows 7,may want to wait on the updates and just position Windows 7.

Overall, very happy that I purchased this model and considering purchasing another for my helpmeet.
This is not an Acer..it can't be. Acer stopped making standing laptops a long time ago!
I've had my Acer Aspire 5810TZ (Timeline Series) for about 2-3 months now. Ingenuously, I was on a budget so I couldn't go for an XPS or a Vaio. Ultimately, I love almost EVERYTHING about this laptop. I be sure it's been outside of its box not too long ago but so far it's been great! The only downside is that the keyboard is a DUST MAGNET! Everything else is firm; only the optic drive and the chicklet-style keyboard seems a bit flimsy. Mat-wise, it's amazing! It's basic but powerful enough to run quake 3 engine games as well as multiple programs at once. I'm also a photographer and I should be using a Macbook Pro (as everyone says -______-) but I can do photo-editing (Lightroom and/or Ps) that's good as slick and lag-free on my 5810TZ.

But the deal-breaker for me was the fact that it's Exceedingly SLIM (5.3lbs = portability) and its VERY handsome :) I love the truth that it has FOUR USB ports..a HUGE plus for me! The Orange/Blue LED behind the touchpad (swiftly above the card reader) finishes the whole sleek, sexy look of the 5810TZ. As well as the other features such as 8+ hours (I use crystal clear-heavy software so I usually get around 5-6 but that doesn't matter because I on occasions leave my place without its charger), 16:9 LED screen = FULL SCREEN Pictures and bright graphics..could be sharper though, and Thermal-Cooling (ONE OF THE COOLEST FEATURES I'VE EVER SEEN!)..The laptop is NEVER hot. The bottom is a tad bit affable at its max but never hot. And the cool thing is you can FEEL it working..you can FEEL the warmer air being fanned out of the vents on the sides..a magnificent thing :)

Overall..I love this laptop. There was nothing better than this in the Micro Forefront in Rockville, MD for $500. Well..there was a Toshiba and an HP with better specs/hardware for $500 but they were fat, uncomfortable, and heavy. Portability was of utmost importance to me so call me crazy but at least I don't strain/groan when I carry mine around >=P and people ask me about it all the time..asking me if this really was an Acer because it's so sleek and well-built! Salutary luck on your laptop shopping though! Just wanted you guys to positive that I haven't regretted mine yet (knock on wood) and that as of now I think I'm pretty far from it :)

Consultation of advice: A lot of reviewers like/tend to be more critical than necessary. For norm, people say that this computer is just downright slow. False. Pentium processors utilized to be the pinnacle technological advancement until duo cores came about. Don't lower the expectations of others by the skin of one's teeth because you want the best knowing all too well that it's more than enough to get the job done SO IT WILL get the job done. As long as you don't fill the the laptop with junk and thumb it every now and then you'll be perfectly content. Now unless you're a gamer..you've heard the others: this isn't a gaming tenets. I couldn't play America's Army at all! Call of duty (the first one) was SUPERB! Aureola: Combat Evolved was good, not great. Soo..just a word of opinion haha.
    splendid laptop!
This is an notable laptop for the money! They sell one exactly like this one for about $120 to $150 more with Windows7; don't eradicate your money on that because you can get a FREE UPGRADE to Windows7 if you purchase it before Jan 31, 2010! The mousepad noteworthy features perform wonderfully and accurately. The mousepad is positioned in impartial the right place and has just the right amount of sensitivity for tapping. The freestyle does not last quite the 8 hours - more like 6 - but then again, I did not do the battery conditioning at first like you're reputed to ... I wish I did ... that probably makes the difference. This laptop freezes up whenever forthcoming out of sleep mode ... I don't know for sure, but I think it might be a Vista emergence ... I guess I'll find out soon enough as my Windows7 should arrive shortly. The computer performs smashingly, except for the aforementioned (as long as I don't let it enter sleepmode, I have no performance issues). One more fetich, the sound (set at 100%) is very low when you play a dvd movie. I can't find any settings to adjust or shift it, so I have to hook up speakers.
    Unmitigated fit for me.
This laptop has worked basic for me. It is also very light weight and that really helps. Nothing but great things to say. I did ensue the instructions of the other users and deleted the multitude of free games softwares before I started using this constituent.

Acer Aspire Timeline AS5810TZ-4274 This is my first laptop and I ardour it. The shield is radiant, the freestyle survival is huge and it has been easy to customize context. amazons cost out would be poverty-stricken to run; I looked a lot and this is a leading payment! The only downside I have found is when I bought it there was a presentation for a informal upgrade to windows 7 and after it here I’m having problems find info on it. Comprehensive still a outstanding buy!

is the Acer Aspire Timeline AS5810TZ-4274 15.6-Inch Laptop any good?

Q: My old computer was just awful... it was a Hp Pavilion and it gave me so many graphic problems... i just want a normal computer to use for school and i also would like it to have good graphics and sound.
I was also thinking of a mac but it's kind of expensive and i'd rather have more disc space.
    Thanks!

A: I will not compare HP to ACER computer no matter what configuration I am given. Check up Dell, Toshiba, Compaq I am sure you should be able to find something that matches how much you plan to spend. But please think twice before you consider ACER computers.
