    WoW fps on compaq presario CQ50-142US?

    Q: I have recently bought a new laptop, here is the link to it http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Compaq-Presario-CQ50-142US-Laptop-CQ50-142US/sem/rpsm/oid/223177/catOid/-18746/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do This is what it says about the video card, This laptop features the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD with up to 1277MB shared video memory, which is drawn from the main system memory. This video memory is perfect for everyday activities like watching movies, video clips or light gaming. My fps on WoW is pretty bad. The computer has 3gb ram, is there any way to improve the fps?

    A: What that means is it has a sub-par integrated graphics card built into your laptop.
    From my experience, wow isn't that graphics intensive.
    Try check your background processes to see if there are any CPU or memory intensive tasks that are hogging up all your computer's resources.
    Also, I'm assuming you have a program that tells you what your FPS is. If you're just experiencing lag, in 80% of cases, it's just your internet connection.
    Otherwise, theres no simple way of adding a better dedicated GPU into your laptop. You'll have to purchase a better computer, or lower your video-settings in WoW.
