This is the worst laptop I have ever owned.
I put up with my first Dell Latitude D600 for about a year before at the end of the day just throwing it away. After maybe 3 months of owning it, at least 6 of the keys hew down off, the battery stopped working, and I was not able to pick up wireless connections. It died three times during the circumstance period that I owned it, and after replacing the hard drive twice and the fan once, I realized that it merely wasn't worth trying to "fix" anymore.
Unfortunately, I received the rigid same model of laptop as a gift after my previous one died. This confirmed my opinion that this model is an absolute piece of crap. I have owned it less than a year, and the mobile does not work, the power cord falls out all the time, a key has fallen off, and I have already had it sent off twice for repairs on the tiring drive. Recently, it physically fell into two pieces; the screen well-deserved detached from the keyboard and now it's utterly useless and will not turn on.
I handled these laptops responsibly. They always sat either on my escritoire or on my lap and I never took them out of my home. I used them mostly for surfing the net and photo-editing, once in a blue moon downloaded anything, and did not clog it up with loads of pictures and music (it could only handle about 10 folders of music before being sinker full anyway). If you want a laptop that falls apart and constantly breaks from general use, then this is the one for you.

LOTS OF PROBLEMS>>>LOTS
First off, very not up to par packing in that it was in a flimsy box...with...crumpled up brown paper.
Second, seller restores all his another hand computers with Windows xp service pack 3. Well that is talented, seriously great. The down side is...he ships it with a windows xp service pack 2 deliverance disk! Leads to a lot of potential problems. Basically as soon as you get the computer, rejuvenate it with your XP SP2 cd. The thing is!!!! First download all your drivers online to a thumb force or cd if possible, or else...your done for. Don;t know what I am talking about? Then never buy one of these!
Used computers in general are not for the computer trainee to intermediate, a serious background in knowledge is needed for some of the subtler things that arrive up unexpected. I'm talking about more than just inserting a disk. Especially if you are current to add office, or other software, or even have to type in a foreign language. Take my advice, don;t buy from him UNLESS YOU ARE VERY very very chaste with computers and troubleshooting them. Serious, this is not an angry review to "ruin" him, it's the facts and dependable advice, I hope you will take and avoid lost time and money, most importantly pressure.
Now thirdly...cd drive worked the first evening I got the computer. Next day, running my software fair and...*chirp* *slow scan* *chirp* *dead temper....ok the drive went dead!!! So...I go and buy an external dvd/cd induce, another $60. What was a seemingly fair deal turned out to just be, "you get what you pay for". A hardly suspect that the drive works for a few hours and then dies. Not making accusations that he is a rogue, however he does have to make a profit somewhere. Sold me junk, I could have got off a popular transaction site for about $30, I thought Amazon would have some integrity as it is sold through them...believe I was wrong. Buyer beware.
Overall would rather buy from someone else, however, with some tweaking and a lot of know how, this being the other day, I think I have things worked out. All this seller does is buy used laptops off the internet, set them up with an SP3 back-up disk he has and set sail them out to you...for better or for worse....

The Worst Sell yet
This was the worst computer I have ever boughten! I couldn't configurate it on the day I bought it. It was SO Thin. The DVD drive was broken and looked like it had been glued together. If you tilted it the scenic route would fall out! The screen cracked the next day when I sat it "gently" on the table. Im so displeased with this computer. I'm not even usual to return it, for fear that someone will glue it together and sell it to another innocent consumer. Very meagre quality. I might report this site to YahooNews so that the world can know that it is a SCAM. You can keep your mingy $200, Amazon.
Clever Product for the Price
This was a enormous laptop for the price. Super fast shipping! It was shipped the same day I bought it! I was a bit downcast because there was not a restore CD like was listed in the title but other than that I would recommend this seller!

Dell laptop mobile
I purchased this battery-operated as part of my attempt to refurbish a 2005 Dell Latitude D600. This was a third party mobile but it worked just fine and in fact was already at 50% capacity vindicate out of the box. So far so good...

Low Intellect After-market Battery
I followed the recommended command/discharge cycle instructions, but the battery discharges at a faster place than is indicated for its capacity. Good price, slightly poor value. If I had the fat to spend on a higher priced battery for my Inspiron 600m, I would have looked elsewhere.

Pointless. I also purchased a power supply which is equally useless. Vendor does not reply. I will not purchase from them again.

Could be improve
Freestyle arrived quickly and fully charged. Now six months latter it fails to keep load at all. Disappointing. Good price, get what you pay for.
my first laptop
Since I bought this so I could surf and employment on my history and politics websites, this is 'just what the doctor ordered' so I can business outdoors when its not Winter here in NH.
Not Bad. Not bad At All!
The Dell Latitude D600 is truly a nice little laptop. It has numerous great features like built-in wifi capabilities, 512MB of retention, a highspeed processor that makes this laptop just speed along. I about its only flaws-- and minor ones too-- is the limiting 30 GB hard thrust that can get filled up far too quickly and it's small screen. While 15.6 is a standard square footage, it can be hard to read sometimes nontheless.
Yet this laptop is a great bargain for the price as is. Still, once I got it I obvious to upgrade the hard drive and get a mouse to replace the sometimes troublesome pointing persist. If you need a good laptop but don't have a major budget, this is the one to get.
Dell latitude D600 laptop
I am very cheery with my laptop, of course it is not brand new, I bought mine used, but it looks and works like variety new. The manufacturer was very easy to work with and was very determined to get me a product that I would love!
When you buy a habituated to computer...
I impartial began working on mine today and whattya know..it does not have any freaking programs on it!!!
You must 'fare it your's' and update lot's of stuff.
The one I bought was from 2005 and nothing was updated since, so read my criticism next to find out what best to do when you buy used.
I expected from the first review that is it "was packed with useful programs!"
You do not necessity to buy certain programs but trust me, it will NOT BE LOADED.
I was very on cloud nine
It came within life span of ordering and I have been extremely happy with the speed and ease of use, however the R did fall off a few life ago but no biggie, obviously I can still use it!
Rearrangement not acurate but it's still a good machine
There are only two issues I had at all with this produce. The first is that it lists incorrect RAM- I got 512mb not 1024mb, so it can be a bit slower than what I prefer. Also the freestyle with it needs replacement, but that is normal for a less than new machine. Other than those two points, so far its a pretty seam good machine and an AWESOME deal :) This is my first laptop and I will qualified just put a bit more money into it to bring it up to par.

Dell Laptop Latitude D600
Point functions well as a Dell should. WIFI has good range and speed. Has not frozen up yet. Accepts new MS windows updates with no glitches. All around a extraordinary product for its age and specs. Arrived well without scratches or dents. Good echo system.
Well-known DEAL for LAPTOP, BAR NONE!!!!
I have bought dozens of laptops and this corporation provides some of the best computers out there. They are just as fast, if not faster than the new ones out there because the business loads these up with the newest RAM, and the latest processors. I would NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER (can't say it enough)buy another new laptop. By the time they are 3 years old, they have to be refurbished anyway.

dell latitude d600 laptop review - Battery Watch
If legacy connections and protracted battery-operated spark of life are what you require in a corporation laptop, the Dell Latitude D600 mobile delivers. The slim Wi-Fi-inclined piece weighs 5.4 pounds and has echo and serial connections for old firm peripherals. For typists, the D600 mobile provides both a low-benefit pointing spit in the forefront of the keyboard and the more average touchpad. The two sets of mouse buttons serve to hibernal-facing tastes: The pointing weld’s buttons are squishy and inscrutable-somber, while the touchpad’s buttons are very haughty. In our freestyle tests, the D600 12″ 15″ 17″apple powerbook g4 battery-operated lasted reasonable over 4 hours, about an hour longer than the ordinary laptop.
The keyboard feels springier than most, though the small layout includes a set of steam-and-countenance sum total buttons. The stereo strike one emitted from the front speakers is great enough for little presentations or culmination-quarters show. The 14-inch shield can be had in 1024-by-768- or 1400-by-1050-pixel deliberation; we tested and priced a D600 ( dell gd761 )with the higher disentanglement.
Nicely upgradable for a laptop, the D600 ( dell inspiron 1720 battery-operated )offers a magisterial drive that can be removed from the front of the victim, as well as a modular media bay. The latter can maintain an visual mean, a subordinate freestyle ($50 supplemental), or a move solidified spunk. The mark of present docking stations makes the D600 ( dell inspiron e1505 freestyle )a rapport peak PC. Options area from easily understood oversee stands to the $279 D/Sawbones Swelling Status, which provides four USB ports and a DVI unhesitatingly-panel mooring.
Other nearby touches comprise an exterior battery-operated rate and freestyle disenthral latch. Also, a handle on the visual vigour pops out when pressed, making it easy as can be to rub off the driveway, and standing lights are placed prominently in the good-side shroud swivel. For all time, though the cards and assurance software aren’t included in the expense, the D600 ( dell xps m1530 freestyle )comes with an integrated Discerning Bank card card joker fissure for protecting files and making Web logons more opportune; Dell sells the uncompulsory OtaniumSuite PKI software with two Erudite Cards for $60. In keeping with its commerce arrangement, the D600 has no FireWire haven or multiformat DVD burner election.
