Tangible Life Review
I've got big hands and really couldn't type on the majority of netbooks out there. I wanted to love my Asus but there were a lot of issues and the keyboard was a negotiation breaker... absolute junk. I have a XPS 1640 as my main laptop so I did some reading and small amount I'd give this one a try. It's not that attractive but I needed function over form. This little guy delivers on every on. I upgraded it to Win7 AFTER I added RAM. I installed Office 2010, chrome, Nortel VPN for profession and Sprint Air Card software. I love the fact it has 3 USB ports. I'm getting about 5 reliable hours out of the battery and I don't do any every saving nonsense - I often do the opposite. I will mention the battery-operated takes forever to charge if you are on it. (so did my Asus though) The aesthetics will grow on you.
One of the choicest netbook out there, battery life was awesome!!!
This is my first netbook. I have been idea for a while about the limitation of netbook performance. I was wrong. The amount of work that I can do on it was incredible!!! I did associate with other brands netbook, this turn out to be the winner. The battery life is prodigious, 7-8 hours every charge. I was debating to get the cheaper version that sold by amazon, but that one only have three cubicle battery. I am glad that I pick this one instead. Great netbook!!!

Rout netbook on the market
[[ASIN:B002PY7P02 Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 10.1-Inch Obsidian Ban Netbook - Up to 8 Hours 8 Minutes of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)]I bought this netbook with many reservations, peculiarly since it had only 1M of RAM. But, surprisingly, that has not been a problem. Now you must realize that a netbook is not meant to run things like CAD or these extraordinarily power-hungry programs. But for my needs it has been great. It has more than enough space with a 320G mightily drive and I am now running Windows 7 Home Premium on it which works incomparable, as well as Office Home & Student edition. I use it to take notes, watch pictures, as well as read ebooks. I have had no problem with the video - it is better than I expected. The Dell mini is very not weighty and easy to carry and the battery lasts and lasts. So, if you are looking for a netbook, this is one merit considering.
solved the battery-operated problem
I'm not a computer qualified by any means, so I was a little nervous buying a netbook since I kept reading reviews about power problems, etc. I went with Dell because it seemed to be the only one without expressive problems in customer service. The first time I plugged my Inspiron mini in, it charged fully moderately quickly. The battery life seems to be well over 8 hours of internet surfing and typing - preferably than advertised! The second time I tried to charge, I got an error report saying it recognized that the charger was plugged in, but it couldn't find the battery and thus was not masterful to charge. Same situation I had read about on a lot of the netbooks. :( I turned it off then back on, no fate. Then I turned it off and removed the battery. I blew on it a little, because that worked back in the day with my Nintendo games, and replaced the mobile. It is now fully charged again! Hopefully, this solution will keep working, and work for others.
Otherwise, I'm still getting to remember this device so I can't say much about it. It's a lot faster than my old laptop, but that isn't saying much at all. The keyboard is a little trifling, but I'm getting used to it pretty quickly. I have small hands, so I postulate that helps. Not carny hands, but little girl hands. It seems to be suiting my wishes well enough, and I can save my documents as normal word documents and not frustrate my professors with some funky organize type.

Should have done my homework.
First off - this is a usefulness little computer for what it is. It just did not suit my needs. I thought I liked the suggestion of a small computer, so ordered this one in cherry red. It is definitely cute, the color is very melodious. The keyboard size is really not bad considering the overall size of the gismo.
Now for the bad parts - I didn't like the touchpad. The buttons are actually part of the pad, and I found them to be distressingly to operate. If your finger isn't exactly on that small corner the cursor moves. I by wanted this netbook to go online and play games. It really isn't safe for either of those activities. With only 1 gig of RAM it is definitely too slow and only comes with solitaire installed. One barely picky thing - you can't change the desktop picture. That bugged me - I like to put pics of my kids on my desktop. It also sell for me over $50 to return it once I payed for shipping it both ways and whatever else they charged me. Peradventure a restocking fee?
Bottom line - think this over carefully and make sure you absolutely want a computer this small. I'm replacing it with a 17.3 inch Dell with 4 gigs of RAM and 320 gigs of unalterable drive. More my speed I guess.

Buy Apparent DVD Drive
I bought this to use CD installations but now most of software CDs are absolutely DVDs.
I realized this after I bought this.
So check the CDs that you have and buy external DVD, not CD.
In my opinion, support to buy external DVD, not this CD drive.

Excellant Value Impel
The value of this is due. Works great and for under $20 you can't go wrong
CD ROM drove for Dell Inspiron Mini Netbook
For $9.99, this is a significant little drive. It's all usb powered and controlled and works especially expected for the smaller netbooks which don't have enough physical space to accommodate a normal tour.
My only con is that the drive is read only. Can't write to it, but for the price, it's wonderful! Highly propound to all!!
very competent
Weak install and functioned perfectly right out of the box. Has a bit of
a "flimsy feel" to it(why I gave it 4 stars not 5) but for my supplementary use
it's perfect especially when one considers the low price. A must for Dell mini.

Exceptional Value
Works marvellous right out of box. I hooked up to my HP mini netbook.
I would give 5 stars but looks a little feeble? But great for the price. I will only be using a few times per year.

Dell Netbook
I bought this computer for my 12 year old son's birthday. He LOVES it. It allows him to do everything he wants to do online...email, gossip, social networking, online gaming, and watching videos online. It has unquestionably freed up my pc.It is easy to use, and he loves the Windows 7 (as do I). Great value and an Moving second computer.
Large netbook (Dell 10v refurb)
I am very impressed with this netbook.
The HDD has more arrange than I need; 160Gb.
The RAM comes with 1Gb and is in fact upgradable to 2Gb for the 10v (I've read other posts that says it is not).
The Atom 1.6GHz processor is precisely right for my needs.
The screen display is better than I had expected and you can pinch your applications to make your experience even better.
Windows 7 Starter is neutral fine for my purposes. I also installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS beside the Windows 7 OS very undoubtedly. It was my first attempt at a dual boot machine. I've also seen a lot of articles that say you can connect Mac OSX on the 10v.
I have only encountered two cons.
First, I could not install Windows updates right out of the box. I re-installed W7starter and that definite the problem.
Second, I am not crazy about the touch pad because I am used to the buttons being sort- but I am sure I will get used to it.
Overall, I am very pleased with this machine and would recommend it.
I want this helps!!

At best the way I wanted it
I bought it after 3 months of investigation, I wasn't to sure about it but I decided I was going for it after reading some pretty A-OK stuff about it. For now, I love it! It's very good. It's size fit perfectly to my life for I can take it anywhere! My older sister is even jealous because my battery stays longer than her laptop :) .. I use the wireless to go on facebook, tchek my email, go on msn.. The only item is that it's kind of slow when I want to watch a movie or go on youtube.. I have to put down the size, wait hours before I could watch it without disruption. But it's not it fault, it's the wireless. I favour it to everyone that needs something lighter and cheaper than a laptop! It might not fit everyone's style, so If you are not satisfy don't condemn the notebook!
Dell Inspirion Mini 1011 - not an incitement!
Having received this result as a Christmas present I was really looking forward to having a usable lightweight product to take with me on my subsequent 3 month trip to New Zealand and Taiwan from which I have decent returned. My expectations were sadly under achieved as this product has been a disaster. Although one should be superior to download device drivers when one plugs in USB devices and flash cards and the motion pictures messages claim that the download is being made, but Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 10.1-Inch Obsidian Baleful Netbook - Up to 8 Hours 8 Minutes of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)each convenience life this is attempted the installation fails and the USB or flash card sockets become unusable thereafter. The keyboard has a resolute of its own in particular one needs repeated attempts holding down the Shift key to realize an upper case letter.
Moreover, the after sales service from Dell is non-existant with all enquiries on their website helpline being met with smother despite their claim that they will respond within 48 hours. They do not even respond within 48 natural life!!
I am therefore seeking to return this product as being totally unfit for purpose.

Almost Excellent
I sweet my Dell Mini. I picked it up Refurbished for $263 after taxes from Amazon's Warehouse Deals, which was more than what I wanted to pay for a netbook. But, even with Amazon's Consumer Service dodging my questions about warranty issues, I could not resist buying this since is has HDMI, TV Tuner, 6-cubicle battery, webcam, card reader, and a decent sized harddrive.
However, As anon as I got started with it I was not very pleased with the speed and performance. Basic tasks and startup seemed uneventful, the TV tuner struggled to get started and change channels, and Updates weren't downloading. It was all because of Windows 7. After a few hours of vexing to understand Windows 7 I gave up with it and decided it was time to start from mark. Because Dell was kind of enough to provide a cd-rom with all the drivers this was not as difficult as it could have been. A quick format, swearing-in of Windows XP Professional and installing the drivers and it was up and running smoothly. I put in a USB Bluetooth dongle I picked up from [...] for $2 so now it has bluetooth capabilities, I installed Gizmo+GoogleVoice so now its a VOIP phone, installed OpenOffice, and I ditched the cumbersome MacAfee and installed BitDefender 2010 (has Laptop trend).
I do not understand why Dell is sullying their products with Windows 7. The hardware in these Minis are definitely not capable of handling the ridiculous amounts of resources required to run that OS. When you backer that Windows 7 requires 1GB of RAM while Windows XP only requires 128MB To perform really the same tasks it seems puzzling why anyone would want to burden their system with Windows 7. It also doesn't plagiarize that Dell makes it nearly impossible to add/upgrade the memory. If XP had come installed on this I doubtlessly would have given this 5 stars.
Dell Mini Nickelodeon - Dell Inspiron Mini Nickelodeon
Dell even-handed announced a Dell mini that comes with designs based on Sketch Motifs Based on Nickelodeon’s Signature Slime and Hit Shows Like SpongeBob SquarePants and iCarly ( Dell form studio folio ). By now, you are in all probability very informal with the Dell mini 10.1" specifications , but you should be informed that Dell targets family (and materfamilias's wallets) with this single untie. Barely stated, here's Dell's end with this direction of computers:
How do you make the webcam work on a dell inspiron mini 12?
Q: I just got my laptop (Dell Mini Inspiron 12) and I was trying to use the webcam that's already built in to my computer, but it keeps saying "Please plug in a supported webcam." and it's not working. I'm trying to figure out if there's a specific way to turn it on, but i haven't figured it out. If anyone could help that would be great!
A: go to www.dell.com and to downloads and see if they have any drivers
for your webcam or contact dell and see if they no any website
you can go to download the drivers
