Enthusiastic Desktop Replacement!
Bought this refurbished on Woot! and have to say couldn't be happier for the $450 i spurt. It zips along when i am running lightroom as well as sometimes four office apps at the same time. Onne catch though is, that because i upgraded to 7, and it didn't ship with 7, that dell won't help any exit i have in regards to drivers etc.
The comptuer shipped with some pretty weak speakers, so i talk to dell and in a week i had new speakers installed and they do the job laudably. HDMI out is nice so is the card reader. Haven't had a single egress with performance, as it should be more than enough for almost everyone.

Looks new.
This is a scurvy model Dell Studio 1737. This appeares to be a refurbished downgrade. The keyboard feels as though it has had some use....a teeny quirky....the "e" needs extra pressure to register....the keys are very boisterous and give the sense of being a used item. The graphics card, an intel 4 series is upright adequate. The studio original box with the original disks is present, a careful touch. The quirkiness continues; this is a Vista32; the included disk is a Vista64. The bluetooth is either disjointed or not present. I like the looks of this computer. I don't like the quirky, noisy, unfathomable touch keyboard. Oh yeah, the screen looks good, too, with enough joyfulness for me! My only real disappointment is the keyboard; otherwise, I would recommend this. Don

Must have received a dud
I bought this mare, b/c my crappy dell charger broke. I had already gotten a replacement from dell, so I decided to buy one off the internet. Now, the computer stays charged while plugged in, but the freestyle doesn't actually fill with charge. Now, my computer is almost out of battery and I can't remove it from the wire. That is not chill...

Travel off
Judging from the commentary - this should be a Dell part. In reality it is a Chinese knock off. The part is NOT UL listed. It scares me to plug it into the face ruin. It is the first thing to ever blow a fuse on the power strip I plugged it into. It gets hot which concerns me about fires.
Unambiguous note - it was cheap. Truely you get what you pay for.

Never shipped
Ordered the Dell stallion - waited and waited - it was never shipped.
I DID get a refumc to my charge card, but have no belief why the seller never shipped.

Charges the battery-operated of my Dell studio 1558
This adapter works dainty. Charges my battery and powers my Dell 1558 no problem, the other people who had an big problem probably received a dud or work for Dell.
My Dell adapter heats up like a stove top and makes a minute whining noise and that's after replacing it twice through Dell.
This little inexpensive adapter makes no eccentric noises, only gets mildly warm and has a little Velcro strap to keep the cords together. While not as slim as the Dell OEM, I was surprised that it seems cured made and durable than my original adapter.

You heartier get a extra keyboard if you type alot
I'm not a big computer guy...honest give me a good screen and reasonbly fast execution and I'm happy
I went with this Dell laptop about 2 years ago because my first computer was a Dell desktop that was celebrated; so I figured a Dell laptop was the way to go and didn't consider any other brand...I paid my $1000 bucks straight away to Dell
Mind you i'm no tech-junkie...I don't stretch it any further than Word..E-mail..Shopping..and YouTube
BUT
I do ilk quite a bit...and this keyboard has started to fail after about 1 1/2 years....Unremittingly having to go back and
ix words ( <--- see what I mean...'ix' = 'Fix')....If you do alot of typing; get an extra plug-in keyboard and use it when you can so you can save your laptop keys for when you can't have your plug-in with you.
The Battery: I 'Abused' mine by always having it on charge...it started to meet with disaster after a little over a year...I suggest charging the battery; and then pulling the freestyle off an running strictly on the power cord whenever you can
The speakers suck for a laptop line itself 'Studio'..and no subwoofer
Overall it's 'Okay'...but you better 'Baby' it if you pine for it to last

Giant Laptop - Dell Can Get Very Expensive
Sentry Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1W2W6RTYQOY4T This is the Dell Studio 15 inch laptop (Unripe Colored Case). I think this a great lap top and it gets the job done. I kept reading all the antipathetic reviews and i have no idea why there's so much bad press. I have never once called customer service and i ordered my laptop at Dell exactly through their website. I have no reason to contact customer service and i never experienced any problems at all with any of my Dell products. I get so puzzled when i read all these negative reviews. My Dell products which i have had for years including a Dell desktop and a recently purchased new netbooks have never been a difficulty. The desk top i have is more than 6 years old and I never have any problems. It runs great. It can definitely improve from an upgrade in some areas.
The Studio line is Dell's midrange laptops. The Inspiron being there low end extent for consumers that just need a standard laptop. The Dell Studio laptop is wholly plastic and it's a bit on the heavy side in my opinion. Maybe because i am so use to my light weight Dell 10 min netbook that i have been spoiled. This is a agreeable lap top. However, i think the flaw in Dell is that their products can get very pricey very quickly. Especially when you are adding in high-class end features like 6GB RAM rather than 3GB RAM or 2.99GHZ instead of 2.33GHZ etc. You can get the same thing at HP for presumably around a hundred dollars less and their quality feels a bit more refined, polished, and sturdy. That being said if you tick Dell's website they do have deals going on all the time especially on holidays. But for some sanity the price never seems as low as it should be. If you check periodically you will find yourself a deal. I go to that website religiously and body the exact same laptop that I have and it always comes up to more money. I got mine on a special promo.
I in effect regret getting the green covered case. I didn't produce how bright it would be and once i opened it out of the box - I really wish i purchased the Dark Crestfallen or Dark Purple colored case. It's really way too bright. I like the personalization options of the sundry colors, but i really do regret getting this bright Caribbean country-like color. My laptop also includes the backlit keyboard which is great for typing in the unfathomable. It also has touch sensitive controls towards the top of the keyboard near the speakers and i deliberate on that's a great plus. The DVD is also an optical drive, so there is no door that slides out for you to pop in your DVD. It's like a Playstation 3 space. You slide the DVDs in & out.
Pros:
15 inch screen
Optical DVD schedule
4GB RAM
750 GB Memory
2.66GHZ
Backlit keyboard
4 UBS slots
HDMI outport
Sleak shiek set up
Different colored cases
Wi-Fi
Webcam
Cons:
Windows Vista (Wonderful Whack)
A bit pricey in my opinion (That's Dell for you)
A bit on the heavy side

Advantage than the Original!
I started to buy the other cuff-off charger, but after reading the reviews I decided to purchase this one. I am so glad I did! Proper like other reviews state the shipping was super fast. I purchased it one afternoon and it was at my entry within 48 hours. I would definitely purchase this again and recommend this seller. The twine is super long which is great, and the charger is much slimmer than my original. I purchased this for my Dell Studio 1737 and it works exquisitely.

Accomplish for Buying Replacements on the Cheap
This AC works with my Dell XPS/Aptek replacement freestyle. Unlike Best Buy's Rocketfish or HP's cord, the battery charges good fine at a 1/3 of the price. Score another victory for Amazon over the retail man.

A righteous deal for a real Dell power cord
I went back and forth about ordering a genuine Dell power cord or a cheap knockoff. After reading a lot of reviews, I firm to go with a Dell cord. I received the cord much faster than I thought I would (less than a week). I have had it for about 2 weeks now and have had no problems. The twine even has the 2 light at the end of the chord like my original one did. I am very happy with my purchase.

Terrific
Line works great and I got it sooner than expected. If my cord ever goes out again or I part with it I will buy from the same person. Originally the cord from Dell was 2x the price and being a college student I proper couldn't afford to spend that much or not have a computer so I was very happy with my purchase. Thanks

dual booting windows Vista/XP, dell 1737 studio drivers needed for XP?
Q: I am trying dual booting on my dell studio 1737 which already have windows vista in it. I need drivers for my windows XP installation. Could anybody please help me in this. I have tried dell website and drivers CD that came with this system. I found few drivers on the CD but still have't found for audio, VGA and Wireless adaptor.Any help will appreciated
Thanks in advance
A: Don't install XP after Vista because the boot loader of XP cannot identify vista.
The best thing to do is that first remove vista, install xp and then reinstall vista.
