Keyboard & Mouse subjectThe keyboard and mouse obstruct working, intermittently and required restart. It looked like it was locked bitter-cold because you couldn't do ALT-CTL-DEL, but the quick keys alongside the keyboard would still bring up WebPages etc... Frankly the keyboard and mouse would quit working. Calling Gateway was worthless. They had me reinstall all the ingenious software via the hard drive, which I had already done once from DVD disk. Even without letting it do any windows updates at all, it would still join up. Gateway wanted me to send it to them. I decided to try Newegg because I just got it...(possibly a mistake) They have had my laptop 10 days and no word yet. They just say "Received". In the quondam, Newegg was great. I have bought tons of stuff from them. Honestly, I am anxious they have changed their core operations. I just bought my wife's laptop from Tiger Sincere because they offer a 30 day money back or exchange and seems much more customer friendly. Farcical enough hers worked fine and I am still waiting on Newegg with mine. I read the policy before buying but still bought from the due to my previous experiences with them. Now, I wonder if that wasn't a mistake. Should have gone Amazon... At this heart I don't think I would recommend anyone to by a PC or Laptop from Newegg, but they may prove me wrong.
Lofty MACHINE
Fast VALUE, WORKS PERFECT, NICE SETTINGS. Trial SW like Antivirus and Employment, should come permanent, and not at additional cost after. Otherwise, great deal.
Gateway MC7833u
This is a very formidable looking laptop. It's fast, with lots of hard drive intermission and ram and more than adequate for the average user. It has a built in wireless card and camera, you couldn't ask for more. The lighted keyboard makes it submissive to type at night and the screen resolution is awesome! I highly advisable anyone to buy this inexpensive but classy computer.
In fine keyboard backlighting!!!
Backlit keyboard is this laptop's most successfully feature and makes using it far more versatile. Unfortunately, the keyboard itself is not as goods for everyDAY use. The center area of the keyboard is not as well supported so you have to punch the significant area keys a lot harder to get the keys to register on the display. Stupendous HDD (500GB) and 4gigs of memory, along with Centrino equipped 2.0GHz CPU, secure this 64bit Vista PC perform really well. The WEI is only 3.7 because the integrated graphics pillar is not as good as most Desktops with a dedicated plug-in video card. That is made up for the constant 16x9 widescreen 16" diagonal display. Also built-in is a 1.3MP webcam, microphone and two speakers. HDMI productivity connector is a nice bonus. Only thing missing is Bluetooth sustain and a BluRay DVD player. Internet WiFi access is very fast and trusted. All in all a very good value and feature rich Notebook PC for the price.
Desktop replacement masquerades as laptop
This is a becoming computer, but did not work for me. It's very heavy -- almost 8 pounds - due to glass surface over screen pomp and bulk. You're not going to want to carry this around. I liked the idea of backlit stretch, but the orange LED is garish and a bit too bright. I was unable to get the HDMI output to effort with my digital TV. The biggest problem was the keyboard. The unit is hard to specimen on; the keys are stiff and often did not register without pressing down firmly. I ended up returning this to the vendor (J&R Computers) and they did fix up with provision a full refund. I'd buy from J&R again but not this machine.
