Unbelievably Well-thought-of!
This computer is Affecting! When I got it I ripped open the package. Before I turned it on I just stared at it for like 15 minutes! It is so "sensuous" as some reviews quoted. I agree. If you're just in it for the looks (which I am not), you want this computer. If you're looking for a tied computer for download large files and surf the web, this is ideal for you. This computer has 802.11 plan-n. Super fast computer even without a Wireless-N router. Plus it's good for haunt DVD/CD Burning with DVD+R
DL plus it has Labelflash! Plus it's got an HDMI cable slot! It comes with a nice large touch pad. But if you like mice healthier, check out my review on the Targus AMU0503US Mini Kaleidoscope Visual Retractable Mouse. Read my pros, cons and suggestions.
Pros: HDMI keep, DVD+R DL and CD-R drive, 802.11 draft-n wireless, "sexy" look if you will, Labelflash for Lazering pictures onto your DVD or CD, Widespread screen, 3GB DDR2 Memory, Windows Vista Home Premium, and 250GB flinty drive.
Cons: A little heavy.
Suggestions: I would suggest using this as an daily every-function computer!

Titanic Buy!
My son needed a lap top for college. He forced computer programing and CISCO Systems in high school, and said this was a fresh buy. In college now, he is loving it!
Valid bought this yesterday - no major complaints
I straight purchased this laptop from Best Buy yesterday, and I'm pleased so far with the results. I was a narrow-minded apprehensive about making the switch to Vista 64 bit, but so far, so good. I've only found one HW component so far that I've had trouble with - a little $10 USB travel mouse. So far, all other software and computer equipment has worked fine in Vista 64 (most importantly, my old games).
I shelter't run into any issues yet, just the typical bloatware that was installed on the PC by gateway. One other annoyance with the scroll role on the mousepad. The right area is dedicated to the scroll function, and it's not moderately as responsive as I'd like, but so far, that's my only complaint about this laptop (one that I'll not have to deal with once I get a compatible USB mouse).
I have played both Titan Track down and Age of Empires 3, with the detail cranked all the way up, and while I had to dial back a couple of the settings, the laptop has performed estimably well. I haven't had a chance to load any FPS games yet, but feel that I'll be able to run those at course settings.

bought this mount as a replacement for the one i had...thought i was getting a really good deal for the toll...WRONG!! as soon as i took it outta the box it came in i could distinguish something was wrong with the cords. within the 1st day just from being moved the rubber/plastic tubing that covers the wires split at every end where it relevant to the plug in ends and at the box exposing the wires. had to wrap it in electrical bind to use it. absolutly horrible and unsafe!

Replacement Power Purveying for Gateway MD Series laptop
If you have to renew your power supply for this particular brand of laptop I strongly incite you to spend the extra dollars and get the higher end replacement. This one works but the close up which connects to the laptop itself fits loosely, not like the original consequence.
All in all you get what you pay for and I usually don't buy the cheaper product simply because I know it is usually less than optimal.
I will say it does what it's imagined to do but you can't be mobile while using this charger because it will come unplugged and it will not charge correctly unless you wiggle the plug around and get it just so.
I'll keep it for an emergency and order the higher priced power distribution.
