A: Backing up a7x_drummer's answer with a link. At a former employer, we used these external graphic cards to drive multiple displays off a laptop (i.e. dual head systems) for customer demonstrations. They weren't very powerful for graphics, but worked well enough for trade shows.
Gaming on a laptop requires careful purchase from the start. Integrated graphics and gaming rarely works. If you really want gaming on a laptop, you'll need to purchase one with a gaming quality video card and expect to pay more than a standard laptop to get it. Low end gaming laptops generally start in the $800 range for non-brand name systems. Once you start looking at low end brands, you jump to about $1000 and work your way up. I have an Asus laptop that ran about $1200 and it includes NVIDIA 9700M GT video, which is suitable for gaming.
