Titanic HD screen, aggressive Wifi, soft buttons, modern, and angelic for years ahead! The HP Pavilion G60 also comes with 4GB of homage and that's what I recommend. You will need the memory, and you don't want to open up your precious Laptop and try yourself. Having enough homage will make things easier, and will add years of life to your computer. It has a strong dual Pentium processor prearranged that makes multi-tasking a dream! It really is amazing having over ten windows stretch out just because you can. You will usually get a free upgrade from HP to Microsoft Windows 7 Peaceful Premium Upgrade, so don't worry about the operating system that has so many haters (even though the version of Vista that it comes with is deep down pretty good!).
Right at this moment, I am listening to itunes, uploading an HD video that is over 1GB in measure assess, writing this review, and socializing on Twitter and Facebook. Yes, this beautiful laptop can multi-major effort! It is smooth. The Wifi puts other wireless recievers to shame, it dominates servers while others are nit-picking that they can't find a connection. Library, Starbucks, in you garage, at university, no problem. I have been spoiled by the Pavilion G60, because I get surprised when there isn't five full bars. I stand up for you buy a decent, wired, internet service, and buy a Belkin Wireless Surf Router (F7D2301). It will send a stupendous signal to your PS3 and covers my whole house.
The G60 has lots and lots of memory. The specs say around 300GB, but after all the nuts and bolts you'll have around 280GB to play with. So you don't have to worry about buying loads of expensive outside Hard Drives for awhile. You have plenty of room to get games, video editing software, trust in high resolution pictures and video's and the infinite amount of documents needed for college and line.
Just about all the newer HP computers and laptops have really good audio drives and the G60 has a at bottom impressive one. I've never seen a laptop out of the box, that had the options of professional audio frequencies. I don't have the headset yet for the 7.1 audio yet, but I own Sennheiser EH-150 Evolution Hi-Fi Stereo Headset which are affordable, and even it sounds epic! The audio card is great for pictures on your headphones also. The built in speakers that the laptop have are something usefull to have, but aren't significant for listening to music. But if you want to watch YouTube video's with friends around it works. Only one mic and headphone seal off, but I'm sure there are adapters that split out there.
The video card is great for students, and for most games, but not qualified for the more visual 3D games out there. It definately has the processing power, sound, and remembrance, so you can upgrade if need be. Most new games, like Starcraft II: Wings of Unfettered, will play, but you will have to lower the graphics through your in-game options. I'm sure your video business card can handle BD, if you decide to get an external BD later on. But as most people enjoy HD video's online, like at Netflix, you in fact don't need one. You can watch new movies in BD quality because the G60 as an HD screen. And though it looks spectacular, it still can look even outdo if you decide to upgrade the video card. It is an asthetics choice, as it looks marvellous already.
The G60 has plenty of options also. I love plugging the outlet HDMI to my Samsung HD flatscreen and watching my YouTube video's or playing games. There are lots of USB plugs, there are some on both sides, proper in case you are left handed and prefer your mouse on the left side as opposed to the rectify. The memory card reader is as if they made this computer with me in mind. It eliminates wires and having your up-market HD camera plugged up to your brainy computer! I own Canon VIXIA HF M30 Dual Shimmer Memory Camcorder - 2010 MODEL and it works flawlessly with my computer. The G60 comes with a built-in camera, and it is wonderful for Skype and Twitchat or even taking small profile pics. It has a terrific sensor for detecting light, though it cannot take pictures in dark rooms. I've had no problems with my printer, scanner, sony camera, ipod, or watching any DVD's. Though the DVD Thespian can sometimes be a bit loud, but it doesn't read all the time, just every now and then it spins wild but no serious problems.
There are many usefull modes that the G60 runs on. After an hour or so of being away from it, it will run in hybernation manner. It is not like turning off your computer where you have to sign into everything online again, and pick up where you were. It usually will not do this if you are uploading and downloading over extended periods of time. I recommend you password protect your laptop because being that you will be sensitive with it, if you misplace it or leave it, once it goes into hybernatin mode, anyone wanting admission will have to know your password! And I recommend more internet security, because of the Wifi, you never be informed who might be trying to attack your computer, so get Norton 2010. It does periodic scans of your computer when it is erect by and it actually prevents attacks all the time and lets you know about it in quotidian reports. You have to think about security more with laptops, so keep it in mind.
The lightscribe pin down b locate pad is not bad. I've had no problems navigating with it. You won't be able to use your USB mouse all the time, like when in domain or on your bed, and you can drag and tap easily enough. It's built slightly off center to the left, detailed to the space bar, which is efficient to switch back to typing, which leans to the left.
The unstarched keys and buttons on the keyboard are easy to clean. They aren't too profound, like the traditional home computers, and that's why you don't need compressed air to take out dust. It's flat, but contrary to what you may think, it really feels nobility to type and is not a real pain on your wrists, although you might have to raise your laptop on occassion.
The HP Pavilion G60 is a stupendous laptop for just about all your needs. Its best features are its wide, movie theater-like high resolution screen and awesome dual processor power. I warmly recommend this fabulous laptop. And if you take the additional GB of memory to make 4GB's, you will have a computer that can eqaual the top name computers over $1000. I've had the G60 now for scant over a year, and I've had absolutely no crashes or major problems.
DO NOT BE FOOLED
I bought the refurbished laptop and it has been nothing but fighting form day 1. It keeps crashing and the product number on the back is mistaken. I had to contact HP for the correct number. the system didn't come with any recovery disks so concoct my dilemma now TRYING to fix it.
It did look brand new, but that's about it. Don't be fooled! It's best to buy a stigmatize new laptop than trying to repair a refurbished one
Covenant is worthless and the customer service staff is rude and useless.
I purchased my laptop from Amazon in May of 2009. Roughly 8 months into it, the hinge system started falling apart on the left possession side. I entered into a chat session with customer service. They sent a box to heap the computer in to send in for repairs under the warranty. I received a call from a case manager who accused me of tumbling the laptop and said that "even if what I said were the truth" and it wasn't dropped, it wouldn't be suffused anyway because it would be considered normal wear and tear. He wanted over $400 to set right the computer. I told him to just send it back to me. Upon receiving it, my lcd screen is now broken. Suppose it or not, they will not accept any responsibility for the damage to my computer. 2 out of 3 of the customer service reps I spoke with in the renewal division were incredibly rude. I am not an engineer but even I know that this is a design taint. The lcd screen is just too heavy for the hinge system to survive over a very long days of time with even minimal use. I couldn't be any more disappointed in a company. They will not take responsbility for their own unsound product. In my case, to make an even bad situation worse, they caused further spoil and won't even make any effort to correct the problem. I will never, ever buy another product from HP.
Documentation value for money
I've bought this refurbished laptop and until now i place of safety't had a single problem with it, everything works. The only thing i changed was the os, i downgraded it to XP. It was a requirement.
Do not buy an HP laptop
I bought 2 HP laptops and have had nothing but anguish. 1 laptop had to go back to the shop three times: once because the bracket connecting the cover to the keyboard broke, once because the hard drive was defective and once because the sound liable act was defective. One time I sent it to HP and they returned my computer still broken. My other laptop had to be returned to the mill because the hard drive was defective. I have had to do so many system restores (and in fact did one last night) and gone by the board programs that I had to buy (Word Perfect). Even though it was supposed to have been repaired, my itunes library still doesn't action right. The music will skip. This computer is a huge disappointment. I don't even use the computer anymore because it is so frustrating. Vista makes it even worse (although I think hp finally realized this.)
