I have a dilemma... Should I replace my laptop with an HP Pavillion, or a Sony VAIO?
Q: I recently purchased a Dell 1520 (Core 2 Duo 2GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 120GB HD, 1GB RAM, CD-RW/DVD drive), and right away, the latch wouldn't open all the way, and the tab key works on and off. I just got Dell to send me a replacement, but I don't know if I want to keep it or sell it/get a refund.
The laptops I'm considering are: 1) the Sony VAIO CR series (Core 2 Duo 2GHz, 200GB HD, 2GB RAM, DVD-RW, $993), 2) the HP Pavilion tx1305us (AMD Turion X2 1.9GHz, 12.1" tablet screen, 160GB HD, DVD-RW w/Lightscribe, 1GB RAM, fingerprint reader, $819), or 3) the HP Pavilion dv6748us (AMD Turion X2 2GHz, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, DVD-RW w/Lightscribe, $699).
Only cons are: Both HPs only have 1MB L2 cache, while the Sony has 2MB L2 cache, and I heard they run loud & hot. Also, the Sony HD spins at 4200rpm (slow), yet is more expensive.
As a web/graphics designer, I want the laptop with the most power/speed, reliability, space, and features for the money.
Suggestions? Should I just keep my Dell?
A: I don't think other laptops are any better or any worse . You could get the replacement from DELL.
