A: Sony laptops are more about (slightly) expensive refinement with the goods under the hood to deliver on games, movies, multimedia.
HP Pavilion while equally good on multimedia, is really a stable business performance machine, which is where it excels. The screen is good for gaming, battery life is strong and the price is good as well.
Personally, I'd go for HP.
