How can i connect my HP Pavilion dv6833us entertainment notebook PC to my LCD?
Q: i got an HDMI-DVI cable but my laptop does not have a port for the DVI thing. Also i need good quality for my HDTV. PLEASE AND THANKYOU
A: One thing that you can do is S-Video but it's not great as HDMI. Another get a expansion port that has a DVI connector and connect it that way. Another way is to get a slingbox catcher. That's the only way I could see it.
Or if your TV has a pc connector then you could get a cable that monitors uses and connect it that way, that's how I have mine and does not look bad, It's called a VGA connector or something like that.
Some other info of:
VGA and S-Video may not output sound into the TV so you will have to use the speakers or output it with something else or use the laptop speakers.
I have a headphone to white and red connector to output to a stereo speakers and have speakers near TV.
Hope this helps, that's the only things I see that you can do with the connections you have.
