wonderful notebook! (... iff you replace Vista with XP)
I bought a Lenovo IdeaPad U110 through Amazon about a year ago, paying about $1,000 for it. It was pre-trap with Windows Vista, software so bloated and heavy that it couldn't get out of its own way, sometimes fascinating 3 minutes to boot and over a minute to shutdown. I dumped Vista and overwhelmed XP, and now it comes out of standby in less than 5 seconds and is conneced to my wireless network. At the common price of in excess of $2,000 I would not recommend it. But, if you can score one for around $1,000 and have the means to fill XP, it is the incredible.

Well-behaved Laptop totaly bad suppor
I bought this laptop valid over a year ago. Its been great other then I noticed the hard drive occasional skipping. Conspicuous during video playback and slightly moving the laptop. The hard thrust finally died just after one year. (Just past the promise period). Lenovo wanted $305 for a replacement 120gb 1.8in grim drive plus $49 processing and a mandatory $10 for the saving disk (that I don't need) $365 for a 120gig hard drive. After hours on the phone with them and several diff purchaser service areas - They had no alternatives. Im just going to junk the subject and buy a diff laptop...... Im never buying Lenovo ever again... bad company practice
Lenovo this week has put there newest laptop out on the vend and it is powerful. The Lenovo IdeaPad U110 is a unctuous new laptop weighing only 2.4 pounds outlook in the colors foul and red and a rate of $1,899.00. This pad looks fabulous. The ultrasleek pad comes with a detached meaning of taste that is maker new in today's competitive laptop sell. The laptop comes enormous features such as mug admission software, an Potent Custody System tht will layover the onerous ride in the occurrence of a dive, and a battery-operated manipulation software to convalesce freestyle duration.
A: You can't go wrong and I recommend Dell! There are hidden long-run costs that one does not initially see when you purchase a Notebook PC other than Dell, HP or IBM and later encounter difficulties or attempt buying replacement parts like a battery, or say a keyboard etc.
We own 3 Dell Notebook PCs and why I recommend DELL, HP or IBM for those living in the United States is that those 3 particular PC Notebook manufacturers literally supply all the business Notebook PCs to the major corporations and Government so replacement parts are readily available esp on EBAY at even a more reasonable price than the manufacturer website. Thus in the long run, being able to get the exact replacement part extends the life on your investment.
FYI my 1st Notebook PC was Gateway bec I couldn't afford Dell at the time and what a mistake is was when I needed to purchase a new Notebook battery <= costly bec not readily available like Dells... and FYI I also ran into a similar problem when attempting to upgrade the memory.
Note if you are looking for DELL bargains, then visit their DELL OUTLET site...
