Q: If they both had the same config. (ex. same ram, processing speed, hard drive etc.) what the difference between the two ? Or is there barely any difference at all ?
A: Generally T series were traditionally the premier Thinkpad model. The R500 do not have the magnesium-titanium LCD cover, R series use some kind of rugged plastic so they are a little more 'fragile'. IMO go for the T500 is far more robust.
