    Customer Reviews

    not bad at all.
i was looking for a fire weight laptop , that could also handle some games on the road. this one looked to peer my needs.

the first thought , it looks good out of the box. set up and updating the software went godlike. The buttons for bluetooth, webcam, wifi are easy to find, and a cordial touch i think.

the screen is good, dvd movies look admissible enough.
the web cam worked fine with yahoo, msn. did not like the bulit in mic, so back to the headset for that.

The fit as a fiddle is good enough for a laptop, however when i plug into my sound system at home it is really reliable.

games i have installed and played so far,
world of warcraft, soul strife, left 4 dead, call of duty 4.
all seem to play fine. how the laptop seemed to have issues with cod4 at max scene, i did not try over clocking it yet.

the only thing i dont like
    1) i really dont like the keyboard, it takes some getting hardened to, but i think they could have left out the right hand arrow keys.and made more dwell for the normal keys.

over all, i am liking this laptop, it was nice being out of town, and clever to play wow , and left 4 dead with my friends.

only reson it gets a 4 is the keyoard.
it's been spinach well spent i think.

    Endorse review
I necessity to mention that my review is based only on 3 weeks of ownership of this notebook. I will update my commentary if necessary later on.

    -------------
    The goods:

Pretty much what has already been mentioned by the other reviewers on peculiar websites (Amazon.com, newegg.com etc): fast, powerful, good for games (I only tried Look down on and Conquer 3 on it at max resolution though, and that game worked great - I don't plan on gaming too much on that make). In particular, I like the HDMI port: I can use my HDTV as a computer monitor by connecting the TV to my laptop with an HDMI guy. eSATA/USB port is cool too.

    And the great price too!!!

    --------------
    The bads:

Only one so far: the keyboard. While it's unsympathetic to have the advantage of a full-fledged numeric keypad, the insertion of the numeric keypad resulted in the indicator keys, the right shift key, and 3 more keys on the right side of the laptop to be smaller than everyday (look at a picture of the keyboard layout). This is a gaming laptop: smaller pointer keys may be hard to adjust to, and in my humble opinion, including a numeric keypad in this laptop defeated its gaming mean. Also, notice that the position of the Fn key is where the left Ctrl key is usually found, and vice versa. All of the above can concoct the keyboard irritating to use at first, but I believe after some time, you can adjust to its weirdness. I don't recollect how people with BIG fingers feel about the smaller keys though... MSI, you should have been wiser!

    ------------
    Other notes:

Well, some things may be prejudiced. I find the sound good enough for a laptop(some people on some web sites said the strike one quality was only fair). But hey, you can connect a 7.1 sound system to this baby if you yen!

I also don't mind the vents on the right side of the laptop, next to where your right hand would be. I have not been bothered by the enthusiasm blowing towards my right hand, mainly because i don't keep my right hand next to the opening but somewhat closer to me when I use my mouse. But I have to say placing the vents on one side of the laptop rather than at the back is kind of stupid.

Final word for now: bought this laptop from Amazon.com (and not thru any third fete seller). Although in the description Amazon says this laptop comes with Vista 64-bit, mine came with Vista 32-bit - and as a sequel, my laptop utilizes only about 3 Gb out of the included 4 Gb RAM . Did Amazon make a mistake in their history of this laptop?

Overall, this is the best laptop I've owned and I highly mention favourably it if it suits your style.
    the first ever
This is the vanquish cheap laptop I ever had I encouraging a lot of person to buy this one it worth it....
    Immense Price Good Performance
After my Toshiba became outdated irksome play more modern games I started my search. I then found this nice microscopic jewel. Let me give you a couple of my opinions of this system. First the bad..The heat exhaust is on the right side of the system and blows lively air on yours hands if your right handed and using a mouse, The partition of the initiative, and Windows Vista which I have totally dumbed down to get it more like XP. Now the good...
Windows Vista I am definitively getting used to it, The performance vs price is great, The battery soul I am impressed with my old unit would only run maybe 30 min. this one about 2 hrs. I am still finding more things definite about this system than negative as I keep using it. I would highly recommend this system.
A lot of computer for assay.
I have no complaints with this computer other than the frightful partitioning of the drives. I just download everything into the D: instead of C:. Other than that I have no grips. I have played The Witcher, Perfect War, and will be playing Rome soon.

The built in webcam and turbo are also very delicate features.

    Happy hunting.

    MSI GX620 OR ASUS G50VM-X1 Overclock? - Overclock.net ...

I am infuriating to pick out if I need to upgrade to i7 or buy me a generous gaming laptop. I don't courageous too much undeniably but do a lot of video indoctrination and such. Was judgement about getting a refurb of either the MSI GX620-001US or the Asus G50VM-X1. The MSI is $670 and comes with p8400 and 9600m, the Asus comes with t5750 and 9700m and is only $600. My theme is do either of these sanction bios overclocking? I conscious the MSI has a be six feet under handle overclock not steadfast on the asus. Also do you call to mind a consider it would be quality buying a Q9000 quad for $300 and tumbling it in either of them, and if I did would the MSI strike dismissal knob overclock still travail? Also if you have any other suggestions on fair gaming laptop for tacky links would be dear

CONs: Weaker Graphics Card, Smaller Screen

I am strong so I'm not concerned about the weight. Some one help me decide!!!! AND Heres a stat sheet on the fps during gaming on several popular games

A: I would recommend the MSI GT735-024US, because of the sweet graphics. If you are playing games on the computers, an AMD should be enough and it will not bottleneck the graphics. So if the processor will not bottleneck the graphics(and it won't) you really don't have to get a super fast processor, unless you want to run 2 prototypes at the same time. ATi makes the best mobile cards in the business. Nvidia does have some good cards, but for Laptops, they basicily rename some of their old desktop cards with new names. So you aren't really getting the 9600M GT, you are probally getting a 8600 GT. Graphic Power > CPU power.
