Can someone help me to upgrade my VAIO's processor?
Q: I have a Sony VAIO VGN-AR605E. From the factory it came with a 1.87ghz Intel Core 2 duo processor. I'm looking to upgrade my processor to speed up the computer. I already upgraded the memory from 1gig to 3 gigs. The computer runs windows vista, home edition.
I was thinking of upgrading to a 3ghz processor but really dont know which one will fit or work, or even where to buy one at a decent price. I was going to try ebay once i found out what will work and what wont.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I already have the cpu out, it actually got some water damage and when i took out the processor a few of the "prongs" actually broke off. they looked corroded actually. i just need to replace it but i figured i might as well upgrade while its out.
