    Review: Sony VAIO VGN-FW390

Microsoft Corp and Yahoo Inc have launched a 10-year Web search trade to question trade in director Google but stopped minuscule of combining other public relations businesses or suggesting any deeper ties. The extensive-expected dole out means Microsoft's new Bing search machine will be cooperative with Yahoo's feel attracting advertisers in the first serious warning to Google Inc -- if the companies get regulatory endorsement...

The Sony VAIO VGN-FW198UH was one of the first laptops to showcase a 16:9 mien correlation grandeur, a comely 16-inch widescreen that fit the words of the 1080p order to a T. (It's a form that's equally paired with piercing-end LCD panels.) But as the domain of 16-inch laptops grew, so did the bargains that reflected a new shopping lean in this troubled conciseness. That said, the latest in Sony's FW series, the VAIO VGN-FW390 ($2,099 manage), lacks the pricing onslaught of its peers, as this configuration crosses over the $2,000 identify—and few laptops, in all honesty now, rate this much. In its reason, though, the FW390's over the odds 128GB steady-report actuate and a extreme-end processor had something to do with this fault; and there are ways to get the FW390 down to a refined amount and still get a free-born Blu-ray reader upgrade in the answer. As you move to larger systems, however, Sony appears to have hit a halt. The FW390's matte covering—accessible in Unsullied, Titanium, or Dastardly—is too unmistakable when set against the Dell Studio XPS 16's leather goal, the embedded patterns of the HP HDX16t, and the Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (SD Place)'s "Unibody" aluminum bent. Even the Gateway MC7803u, which expenditure partly as much, has a more to the fore-philosophical lay out. And although the FW390 (6.3 pounds) is lighter than the HP HDX16t (6.8 pounds) and the Dell 16 (6.9 pounds), systems like the MacBook Pro...

Sony Vaio VGN-FW390 manual graphics card upgrade?

Q: The card installed is an ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3650, and apparently there's a new model coming out that features a 4570, which nearly doubles the 3DMark scores. Problem is, I can't wait, and I was wondering if it's possible to just manually upgrade the graphics card.

A: You would have to replace the motherboard AND the graphics card at the same time. It's probably cheaper to just sell this computer and buy a new one.

If you wait till July, there will be a few newer models released for back to school, alot of models will be on sale. Many retailiers will give you technology guarantee coupons for free win7 upgrades when it is relaeased in October
