Another ardent Sony VAIO laptop
I bought it last abatement, 2009 and it works flawlessly since then. Very stable, stylish (Mac style) and faithful. Battery good for about 3 hrs (while streaming heavy HD video), will last longer for customary use.

Sony assurance is not customer friendly
I purchased an FW laptop in November 2008 and the keyboard spoiled in August 2009. Service was responsive and replaced it. In January 2010., keyboard spoiled again and Sony will not cover since the computer is "out of warranty". I have another brand that is still working after 8 years. One year spark of life is outrageous!

Never Ever A Sony Anymore
I bought a Sony VAIO VGN-FW280J/H 16.4-Inch Laptop (2.26 GHz Intel Gist 2 Duo P8400 Processor, 4 GB RAM, 7200 RPM 320 GB Hard Urge, BD-RW, Vista Premium) Gray, in May 2009 for the good price of USD 999.99. I didn't start the box for about one month, because I have 2 other Laptops an Apple and a HP.
Then I used this Sony for about 2 months as a desktop, but not that much, so I didn't move or carry this Sony on th go. Then for somehow it builds moisture inside the LCD, I believe due to the hot weather, I contacted Sony Advance, they asked me to send the unit to Sony Repair in San Diego which I did and they received the portion on 10.05.2009. Yesterday on 10.20.2009 at 8 pm I got an email saying that the repair assess is USD 699.99 plus tax, whaaaaaat?...I called right to a different place asked them to send it back, this is crazy...
I just can not believe that this is a SONY, one of the biggest partnership in electronics/multimedia/movie industry.
I will never ever buy a sony anymore...
Below is the email that I got from Sony Fettle:

Not Full HD
The periodical says that it is a Full HD display. As far as I know this would mean a resolution of 1920x1080.
As opposed to it has a max resolution of 1600x900. The description from Amazon is confusing and I didn't upon this from them.
Apart from this and the annoying assistants at startup (which you can'd disable), the VAIO is OK.
