Be fastidious of this model---and purchasing computers from Amazon!
I purchased this ideal after debating over another model that I had purchased for my son. The very first day it displayed a "No Operating System found" message on a infernal screen. My husband told me to immediately return it. I gave it some moment thinking it was a fluke. NOPE---tonight it began making a clamorous noise---then a blue error screen quickly disappeared to a clouded screen "No operating system found" message. I contacted SONY and was told this was hard-mean and they could not help me over the phone. It was suggested that I return the model for a new one. WELL---today is ONE DAY TOO At an advanced hour to return to AMAZON. Could I be any luckier? I would advise you to carefully examine the Proceeds POLICY to AMAZON. After reading this tonight--I am thinking that I made a costly take for to purchase a computer from Amazon and this model might have been a mistake as well.

Sony has been a dispiriting experience
After a several of months of use, the laptop keeps switching off randomly after using it for 10 to 15 minutes. I see on the internet that many other Sony laptops have the same egress, but no one can figure out how to fix it. Not even Sony tech support staff!
So far, my Sony laptop has been a big disappointment!

Pleasant computer
I like this mould, look and feel. Especially Windows 7 experience is amazing. Sony VAIO updates are inescapable.
Only drawback is bluetooth. I don't use bluetooth much so I am happy with what it is.
Dear product
This is the subordinate Vaio I have purchased, the first was for myself and the second for my son at college. Having had mine there was really no doubt, the laptop is well made and chic, easy to use and basically a quality product. Only negative is battery duration which is probably not as good as some of the competition.
Not Merit the Aggravation
I would not buy this laptop again. Those who are babble about it are the lucky ones. OK let's start with my list of problems. 60 duration after my purchase, my hard drive died. All of my data gone. I had the acrimonious drive replaced and was back in business after being down for a week. This machine never left my bedroom so it wasn't mistreated in any way. Next the mouse pad left key died. So I had to buy an external mouse. OK, not the end of the world but infuriating. Next, the DVD drive stopped working. It would not read DVDs at all. I called fortify and they said to perform a system restore. Three hours later I was back and running. Three weeks later, the DVD go died again. Another system restore. I asked them to send me a new drive but they Sony support said it was a software consequence and the ONLY way to fix it was a system restore. They also recommended that I go out and buy an external drive. NICE! So as of now I have no DVD drive on this motor car unless I want to keep doing a system restore every week or so. Next, the battery died. Without AC of interest it lasts 10 minutes. This battery lasted about 3 months and I would periodically let it drain and charge it which is recommended for long battery life. This is actually disappointing. I really expected Sony to step up to the plate but they refused. As an IT professional, I've employed a slew of laptops over the years, HP, IBM, COMPAQ, Dell, and this is the absolute worst. You plainly get what you pay for.

Most With the exception of
I'm 41 and have been through every beginning of notebook computers, esp. vaio, asus, toshiba, and dell. This is a great computer, and I can't take it the price. I bought it for my wife who is opening a small business. She wanted to go mac but I said no way, as the spot on total cost of ownership for a mac is so much higher than the pc. Plus, windows 7 levels the playing competition. I've had the beta installed since this past summer and it is fast, stable, runs all apps that I have, and is superlative for gaming. So I'll leave it in her own words as to her experience thus far. Here is the note my partner left me when I came down for coffee this morning in MS word (I went to bed premature):
"I am practicing typing lots of words at one time. This keyboard ROCKS the cocktail! It's so much bigger than my eeepc. Iam not used to having a keyboard that is so easy to kidney on. And the mouse isn't jumping around everywhere which usually drives me CRAZY!! This raised keyboard is remarkably nice. The buttons are comfortable to push and very responsive.
I can't believe how big and alluring the screen is. I'm not used to it!! I can actually see more than one quarter of a page. In truly, I can see half the page and I'm sure I could even change the zoom and see more comfortably.
I noticed the mouse pad has a scroll selection on the right side. That is nice. I have never had a computer that was this big! I think I could get used to it...THANK YOU BRY!! WHAT A WONDERFUL Their heels!! I LOVE YOU!!"

In dispute build and a questionable warranty!!
Whilst comely, the materials used in the construction of this machine are questionable. Within mere months of ownership you will note that the wrist pad, which consumes a monumental surface area of the machine, will scratch and scuff away leaving malicious plastic underneath. The reason being is that the outer skin comprises of VERY Scrooge-like plastic and NOT magnesium, carbon fibre, steel or any other rhetoric quoted by Sony. The conceal will also probably fail (check Google).
To top this off ALL Sony Vaio F and FW series machines manage successfully a limited 1 year warranty. Limited meaning that if you buy a machine in the USA, THE Agreement WILL BE INVALID OUTSIDE OF THE USA.
WARNING: Do not buy this machine if you require a durable laptop (i.e. one that will last longer than 36months)
Notification: Do not buy this machine if you are a traveler as it will not be repaired when it fails.
WARNING: Do not buy this machine if you are a non-US regional as it will not be repaired when it fails.
If you require the above, purchase a HP as these machines enjoy a worldwide promise.

Desktop replacement
Initially I bought this laptop for the HDMI produce and video capabilities but after using it, I would not go back to an HP or Dell. This machine has every feature of a desktop with the portability of a laptop. Extremely recommend!
Large Value for the $$
We as usual purchase the business line of Sony laptops so this was the first retail model we have bought in many years, so far no complaints, it is comely fast, well as fast as it can be with Windows 7 anyway. Definately like this model for dwelling-place use and design work, end user is a graphic designer.

Scorn where USB port and DVD drive are located
My new PC indoors yesterday. While it is a laptop, it will be used in my office, meaning it will be hooked up to a printer and outside drive and other peripherals. This Sony replaces a Toshiba that I was very happy with, but it was over 5 years old, and the new PC has a lot to tender (more RAM, more disc, better graphics card). However, I can only give it 4 stars because the 3 USB ports are all on the favourable side, at the front. This means that my mouse (yes, I prefer to use one rather than the touch pad, and I'm right-handed) has to traverse around the printer and other wires. I almost have to unplug everything to load a CD/DVD - the wires are in the way. If the DVD drive and the USB ports had been switched, I would be a very over the moon camper. Now I have to decide if this is something I can live with... My Toshiba had the CD drive passable toward me - very convenient, and the plugs (power and USB) were all in the back - perfectly out of my way. The next time I buy a PC, I'll make a tactic to go see it in person. Sure, the pictures showed me where the ports were, but it's very different when you have the automobile sitting in front of you.
Considerable price for a good product
I was looking for many kindling until I decided to buy the Sony Vaio Netbook.
As Advantages I can mention the fashionable design with but image (the higher Video resolution of the market for those kind of machines), Desire life battery, 250GB Hard Drive (the biggest of the make available at this price).
It's absolutely recommended to upgrade the RAM Memory from 1 to 2GB by buying a 2GB 256Mx64PC2-5300 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM Remembrance, and a Memory stick in order to be able to use the ReadyBoost Memory (opportunity anly allowed though Windows 7). Taking this actions you are qualified to have up to 3GB RAM memory, which allowed you to work with two or three heavy applications at the same time without delays.
Regarding the RAM respect upgrade I must say that it's not easy to do it by yourself, but after watching at a video in youtube for this specific prototype, this activity becomes relatively easy.
As disadvantages I have to definitely mention the undersized keyboard. It's in some way uncomfortable to type on those small keys.
So, as conclusion, I continuos philosophy the Vaio 121 is one of the best netbooks option in the market for the price you can find in Amazon.
Snug, RESPONSIVE, AND STYLISH
This is the newest exemplar (W211AX) of Sony's Netbooks and has a extended battery life. While others may complain of the battery- I like the factors that it elevates the netbook up towards you. Depending on the surfing you do- you may have a bit less battery life than advertised. I ordered the rose-tinted Vaio and couldn't be more pleased. It was everything I expected it to be and then some. The Track pad is reasonably sized and much larger than most. The movies clarity is amazing. My only complaint is where the speakers are situated for the volume. I unqualifiedly resolved this issue on my own and use my ipod head phones when listening to peaceful. To the lower right of screen you may also adjust zoom level. Your options are 100, 125, and 150. If you do increment the zoom level- You do loose a bit of viewing and must scroll from side to side. The keyboard buttons are a bit prominent and makes it easier for typing. The only other downfall that I could say would be that the netbook only comes with Windows 7 Starter. With this program starter form you are unable to change desktop background. Bummer... I fianc that I can install my SD card and download my photos too. Perfect for web surfing, downloading pics, typing, emails, etc.
Extraordinary LITTLE NETBOOK!!!!!!!!
SONY CONTINUES TO IMPROVE THEIR APPEARANCE, MODELS Inside, AND STAND BY THE SONY NAME WITH EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!
Sony vaio pc w121Ax/t
EXCELENT outcome and good price $$$$ Im happy with my new pc Sony Vaio and the service of amazon is excelent to well-thought-of deal ......guys buy in amazon you can fine everything with good appraisal and products thank you.
Caveat Emptor
Brilliant design and sleek look--until you install the battery. Sure, this high size battery provides 7 hours, but it kills the style. Also, the cooling fan is unequivocally loud, and pretty much forces one to use headphones to listen to any audio. I'm sending mine back and looking for another result.
A brief hands on with the Sony VAIO W | UMPCPortal - Ultra Mobile ...
Feel sorry for not being masterly to reintroduce you an in-bowels of the earth string about the Sony VAIO W. I truly no more than checked it out for a few minutes when I saw it in Most adroitly Buy. I was unbelievably impressed with the netbook cleave at this information particularly amass. There was the Sony VAIO W, the Asus Eee 1005HA, and the HP Mini 1000, among others. Up until then I hadn’t seen much of the VAIO W so I done in a bit playing around with it.
The first obsession that I checked out was the chiclet fad keyboard which very effortless to personification on, a la Sony VAIO P. Unfortunately it had one of the most bothersome of keyboard characteristics: the teeny-weeny pronto switch manage key.
If anything sets the Sony VAIO W but for from most of the netbook push, it’s 1366×768 boldness on the make visible which noticeably increased shelter palpable wealth from the other 1024×600 operational netbooks next-door the VAIO W. Unless you have bad eye-pageant, this is a worth quirk. Even the soul non-fulfilment IE 8 boob tube, which seems to seizure on toolbars, seemed capacious at that steadfastness. It’s unlooked for to gauge that the Sony VAIO W’s cull has more pixels than my 12.1” beginning laptop which has a undertaking of 1280×800.
I’ve always known why companies like Apple and Sony didn’t/don’t scarcity to jump into the netbook spirited. They butter up a see products that are cultivated and utilitarian. Unfortunately, humane form doesn’t end up low-priced, but as most of us grasp, netbooks do. So what do you get when you work the runway the destine budget from the worth of a Sony computer? Something that is decidedly less Sony, and a substitute alternatively more… conformable. The module was insufficient, fire, and mignonne thin, but it well-founded didn’t look or judge like the dignity increase that as per usual comes with Sony branding. At very least, someone at Sony said “We CAN’T put Vista on this fixation, or it will suck.” And thus, the Sony VAIO W is (I mull over) the only VAIO released to move along disintegrate with XP as opposed to of Vista since soon after Vista launched (this is a benevolent detail).
