Wagerer than the original!The AC adapter twine for my Toshiba Satellite A215 had gotten damaged, the round plug that went into the side of the computer had gotten partiality. I used it that way for a long time, until it began taking very creative jiggling to get it to keep a bond. A OEM replacement was way too expensive. I read the reviews for replacement cords on Amazon, and absolute this one sounded best although it wasn't the cheapest.
I am so glad I went with this one. It is literally *better* than the AC adapter and cord that came with the computer. It is sturdy, and seems to be well built. The power transformer runs cooler than the case (though it does get warm, just the nature of the beast.) The power string to the wall outlet is plenty long enough and it always stays cool... which is a very laudatory sign! I like that there is an indicator light on the power transformer too, as seeing that small green light reminds me to unplug it from the wall when I shut down my laptop for the Stygian.
What I like best about the adapter, though, might seem a small point. It is the L-shaped publicity that fits into the computer's power port. It is so nice to not have the plug and cord sticking settled out, and it also allows the cord to lie in a less distracting angle when in use.
You may pay more for this adapter than others offered on the instal, but weigh the reviews before going for the cheapest option! In this case, I unqualifiedly do feel a few dollars more buys a much higher level of quality. I will be using this troop again for any other adapter I need to replace.
Works okay, but only for 8 months or so
I'm about to straighten out my 4th power cord for my Toshiba A215-S4747. I don't know what the normal lifespan of the adapters are, but mine have only been long-term from 6-9 months, which doesn't seem long enough. By that time they start fraying, or game really hot, etc. I'm not hard on them; my laptop gets used at home only, and I'm painstaking. I'm disappointed, but I don't really have anywhere else to easily order these from.

Proper buy.
It's too bad Toshiba has no inkling on power cords. The one that came with my laptop stopped working after about a year. The replacement cords on the Toshiba orientation run for about $80. No thank you. I have tried different replacement cords. The cheaper ones get too hot or weaken in a month or 2. This one seems to last and does not get too hot. I would recommend going with this one over any of the cheaper ones you may find.

The adapter showed up in record antiquated and work perfectly with my laptop. Highly recomended for back up or replacement ac adapters.
