Q: confused between Toshiba and Dell.
want to buy a laptop sumwhr around $1000 - $1200.
does anyone has Toshiba Satellite® : A300 : A305-S6839.
Overall how it is?
planning to buy from US.
A: the problem with both companies is that they both use their brands to market their products, instead of using innovation of their products. so, like hp, lenovo, and acer, you do not see any difference between these brands.
toshiba used to be number 1 bec its thinkpad, but it's all now in the past! dell has a very poor rep with not delivering of what they advertise (just recently). while hp has many unsolvable issues with microsoft. - do read these issues posted in their websites - you usually need to search for them.
the best for me is still sony vaio, it just cost a lot. but a vaio can last at least 4 years, esp if you buy a ram with at least 2 gb. recently they have just reduced prices - sony.com.
then there is asus, which i think is a company trying to do a lot of innovation to put sony out of that novelty pc position. with a lot of cheap external hard drives (US$120.00 i think lacie 500gb from amazon.com), who needs a laptop with a big harddrive - thus asus is making the eee pc.
